I am new to the game . . I have experience in playing cs but this game is completely different and after my first game I am in love with it. How long does it take to get the hang out the game now . . it seems very hard as I have just tested out both marines and aliens. Aiming at the aliens are hard as well as attacking marines with aliens. Maybe I see some of you out on the servers . . I go by the name Shamrocked see ya

(just to let you know, there are BIG changes in 1.1)

Marines isn't all that different from any other FPS, so the learning curve isn't THAT high.
Aliens, on the other hand, has possibly the highest learning curve of any game other than Nethack. Unless you have prior experience with melee combat in other games you are going to take a while to get it. On the plus side, don't get discouraged if you keep getting your arse kicked - that's meant to happen
But it will take longer to learn the right behavior.

Not too sure about this. For example taking a comm seat = seriously steep learning curve unless you have "|337 m4d hax0r sk1|z" (or whatever nonsense people say) with RTS games. I've played a number of RTS games, but those games have a pause facility to allow you time to plan strategies, etc. NS comes hard & fast and you must think on your feet as a commander. Especially when fades start wrecking your bases.

I meant base, grunt marine...
Anyway, there are very very few other games which are similar to playing as alien. There are LOTS of games which are similar to marine. Maybe not identical, but similar. There are plenty of games where you're a guy running around with a bunch of weapons, shooting alien, and there are plenty of games where you're a commander. There are very few games in which you learn to dodge bullets and depend totally on melee skills (other than Perfect Dark and NS, I can't think of any games which develop bulletdodging skills).
BIGGEST DIFFERENCE BETWEEN NS AND CS: NS is about teamwork, CS is about...
uuh
Something else
Aiming skills ?
And now im gonna make fun of Brave Ulysses
First you say "pause facility" and I think you mean pause ability
And then you say something about thinking with your feet....
hehe
