I'm making backup's of all the original NS files, so when NS 10.0 comes out and it is more popular than counter-strike I can go back and see how it all started. Is anyone else doing anything similar?
Just keep the install.exe here is some thread in the model and skin section about the models that were used as replacements in early stages when not all models were completed. The armory was a resized mine or such the skulk was some ugly piece of flesh with 5 legs and all...
I don't but I think it's a good idea. Just allow us to dl it <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
i have a really large HL folder with patches, mods, models, maps, the only time i have deleted anything from it was some time ago when my free space was low, then i deleted some mods, mods which i didn't play.
by the way if anyone wants the old "Run away train" mod i have it, PM me if interested.

As for that train thing - I went to that linked website... Something about words like "sexy" and "train" in one sentence fills me with a shuddering sense of horror. <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo--> Sounds a tad...anoraky to me.

Hey, ya never know when someone might need to patch to the latest version of some game, and it's usually a lot quicker to pass around a CD instead of having everyone downloading the patch.
It's also useful if everyone would rather play the not-quite-current version of some game.
[edit1] actually made my post somewhat relevant to the discussion... <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

That would be interesting for some 'NS museum' of sorts. I think CS posted pics of past maps and models during their anniversary. It'd be fun is NS did the same.
im gonna play it <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo-->
