<div class="IPBDescription">Xmen 2 is fickin' c0re!!!1</div> First of all, this is the first topic I've ever made.
Anyway, I just wanted to express how absolutely freaking amazing X2 was last night.
A co-worker (yes I'm so cool the only people I hang out with is co-workers) of mine and I set out to see the 10pm showing of X2 at the Edwards 18 in West Covina. We ended up seeing the 11pm show because we stood in the wrong line.
Anyway, the special effects are done better, there's more Wolverine (he kills with his blades a LOT) and <b>Lady Deathstrike</b>! It's nice to see that they left the movie open for a 3rd one as well. This is proving to be the best series of movies I have seen in a LONG time. Also another reason to go is a kick **** Matrix Preview. I don't want to say too much about either because I hate spoilers, but you will be VERY pleased indeed if you go see this movie.

It was a good movie and was worth the ticket price, but, IMO, it lacked the 'coolness' that the first movie had. When the first one came out on DVD, I snatched it up that day. The main reason I'd buy this one on DVD is because it's part of what will probably be a string of at least three movies.
This movie seemed to be one that was made just to advance the storyline. Most scenes lingered just long enough for the audience to <i>almost</i> appreciate what was happening, then it was off to some other scene. So many things were happening at one time that the focus was jumping all over the place, and those of us who haven't read the comics spent half the movie scratching our heads in confusion.
There was a crowd of people who went with me last night, and those who had at least some knowledge of the comics loved the movie. Those who have never read any of the comics, like me, seemed to think it was merely good, but nothing spectacular.
I'd still recommend it to anyone who liked the first movie, but don't go in expecting to enjoy it as much as you may have while watching the first one.
There were more characters brought in, farther character development and they are keeping very well with the Xmen Universe. You must have seen some other X2 movie.
You'd be surprised at how often I hear that. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

Isn't X2 that movie about a group of people (<i>ie: a fellowship</i>) and a ring? <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
Seriously though - the biggest gripe I had with the movie was that there was far too much jumping around from scene to scene. IIRC, there was three major storylines going on for a good portion of the movie, and it jumped around between them all far too frequently for most of the audience to really grasp what what happening. Those with me who already knew the story were able to follow along quite easily, but the rest of us were confused.

The audience were idiots then. =\

I loved this movie, I got the screener and just got done watching it again (second time). My favorite part is the very beginning... Nightcrawler was freaking insane!
