Take one...
This is something that is going on in one of my rave BBS... the thred is over a YEAR old and STILL active, and has over 4500 replies http://pub2.ezboard.com/fpainte....9.topic THere was a similar thread in another forum of mine that was a NSFAQ (not so frequently asked questions) where someone would post a question, and the next person to respond had to answer the previous question (humorously or seriously) and add on a question of their own. the topics in my rave BBS range from sex to drugs to cartoons to best chewing gum...
So.... I figured I'd see how long one of these things lasts on this forum.

What kind of original game would you like to see.
MMRTSFPS?
In the realm of What if... what if someone made a massively multi-player, RTS, FPS... like say NS just with entire worlds, and thousands of players at once, with commanders commanding squads of 100+ troops and there being planes and tanks, and underground units... what if... that'd be f-ing bad ###!
Personally, I like playing video games because it's a way to do things that aren't even remotely possible in real life. I'd like to see you attack a mad scientist with your Metal Blade, torch an Imp with a Fire spell, command your Protoss Carriers to free the universe from the scourge of the Zerg, and take out the evil M. Bison with a Sonic Boom in real life. (If any of you can do that in real life, color me impressed.)
I know some of you are going to respond that playing, say, a snowboarding game lets you get the feeling that you're snowboarding without having to put up with nuisances like injuries or broken bones. I definitely agree with you on that, and I definitely feel that without some semblance of reality in the game you don't feel like you're really there. It's hard to get much of a feeling from something as abstract as Space Invaders. But I think that (a) the mere fact that you're not being injured makes it less "realistic", since you normally have to deal with both the bad and the good in life, and (b) the possibilities in a video game, in which entire new universes can be created, are far less limited than real life. So finally I say, why sacrifice the possibilites of fun and originality to make things overly realistic?
That would be soo cool, like one side could be humans and one side zombies, or Everyone could be human, and you could work together to escape the Zombie infested town or what have you. It could be an RPG or a FPS or even a topdown game, ala the Original Zelda's. Hell, you could even have persistent player stats, like hours Survived or Zombies killed.
Yeaaaah............that would be friggin cool

I'd love to see a cyberpunk type game that's a mix between the Neuromancer novel and the Shadowrun RPG... that'd friggin rock!
Thing is with the super-realism... you can do things in a realatively realistic environment that you would NEVER to in reallife....
anyone played GTA3?
Dude.... if I did in real life what I do in that game... I think that there'd have been WW5 by now... eheheheheheh there's nothing better than taking a rocket launcher and sniper rifle, setting up on the roof a a building and taking out innocent pedestrians, then blowing up the cops' cars, taking out the helicoptors, maltoving the FBI, and mowing down the military with your colt...
hey... anyone ever successully complete that double jump in the 3rd city with a non sports car? I'm wondering if it's possible with a semi truck or a minivan... eheheheheheheheh

yes that would be nice
But what about which is the best... um.... beverage...
Though I get your point, that it's fun doing stuff you can't do in real life while playing games. Force powers, that's what I would like to have.
That reminds me of a famous quote from einstein,'I don't know what WW3 will be fought with, but WW4 will be fought with sticks and stones.' I get the feeling that you dont think there will be a nuclear war in the future.
bawls!!!!!
I've got lots of bawls!!!
www.bawls.com
and about nuclear weapons... it's realatively clear that the vast majority of "use" that nuclear weapons are seeing is that of a status symbol amongst nations. While I'm ignoring the current status of india and its neighbors, I honestly think that the foreign policies of many of the nations that are allied with the US (and probably even some that aren't allied with the US) is that the use of nuclear weapons in general is a BAD thing, and BAD things shouldn't be done.
then again flying airplanes into buildings is a bad thing and some psychotics did it anyways.
Ooooo
anyone ever had a Comodore 64 computer (back before teh Hard drive was invented, or the 3.5" floppy)... I remember this game it was like risk, only you could buy different kinds of units, and one kind was the nuke... thing is, once you used a nuke, the country would be void of all armies, and it was up for anyone's grabs, the country you used it in would cause each unit to lose 1 size point every turn, and 3 of your allied countries would be randomly assigned to teams (thou I was lucky once, and retained 2 of them) because the did not like your use of nuclear weapons.
man.. vintage gaming is fun- screw the pretty pictures, it was ALL about the gameplay
double jump, which double jump? where?
er.... from teh hospital, head down hill about 3 intersections, then take a right and head uphill to the top, make a right, and there'll be the back area of a building (about a block or two down the road) surrounded by a wooden or brick fence (gad. can't remember). at theend of the lot there's a jump that goes over the street that's 2 stories below. if you hit it hard enough you'll land on a 2nd ramp on the building across the street. and jump off that again to the road about 3 stories below- it'll get you $10,000 if done right. I did it in the cheetah, but I REALLY want to do it in a minivan or a semi... just I'm always falling about 3 feet short of the 2nd ramp in anything other than a cheetah and so I don't get the credit for it.
Maybe I'll try it with the FBI car...

*pause*
AAAHAHH!
the fun i had
I had the car to do it with a year ago, just...
due to my supporting a very close friend through tough times, I've had to sell all the mods- engine (the high perfromance on I put in, my stock motor is back in there now), turbo, NOS (I've still got a full bottle in my garage thou), sway bars, strut tower braces, custom cams,coil-over suspension kit (well, I've still got my stereo equipment ) - to help her get back on her feet but it's not as if it were a waste thou- my friend is doing better (100% clean of drugs and alchohol) with the rehab program she's in, but still has about a year and a half left until completion. She's coming over here (She lives in Seattle, and I'm in Tampa) to visit in the middle of December, so I can't wait for that.
