This Happen To Anyone Else?

<div class="IPBDescription">weapon models cover upgrade sprites</div> Im currently using the "Duster" lmg model...but i have a problem with it...the stock covers up my upgrade sprites so in order to see my upgrades i gotta switch to my pistol...i was wondering if this just happens to me or if its a common thing...also still waiting on HA hands =(

    They do happen to everyone. If they're really bothering you, change the origins and push it around until you like it. The problem is the model is too far up and to the right of the screen.

    i use the duster lmg *btw nice job who ever made* if i ever want to see my upgrades i just whip out my pistol look memorise then take out my lmg again.

    ya pykmi...the same model was posted twice...so it didnt include the HA hands...i told SM about this so hes getting it changed..ill check today to see if they are up yet

    Y'know, it may well be possible to reposition the upgrades in the hud.txt so they're somewhere they won't get clipped.

    i always thought hud.txt was to do with where on the .spr files the graphics are taken from, but I could be mistaken.

    quick question...why would the gun model cover those 3 sprites but still be behind the others?

    I thought so too, but then I saw some very crafty messing about with CS huds, so maybe it's possible to fluff about with it a bit.

    soz for bringing up old threads,

    i got the same problem.. my unreal 2 replacement gun covers upgrades AND jetpack level,

    souris mentioned this can be altered so the upgrades are shown elsewhere.. can u explain furthur?..

    also, i am having thoughts that it might be textures that cause this problem. how can this be fixed?

    ... and why, pray tell, won't any custom things work in 1.1? As far as I can tell pretty much the only changes to models will be the new alien attacks, and even then the current models will work just fine (they'll just look a little strange, because they're not representing the right attacks). Maps will work just fine too, though there was a thread in General about how some "fun" maps may have issues with the new JP code making areas inaccessible. Sprites and sounds ought to be just the same, so no problems there either. There will be very few 1.0x models/sprites/whatevers which won't work with 1.1.

    Meanwhile, on-topic:

    (1) Looks like tweaking the HUD to move the upgrade sprites isn't possible - it's all hardcoded.

    (2) With regards to the actual reason behind the issue of models clipping the sprites, I have a feeling (I'm not 100% on this, maybe only about 75% even) that it's down to models being placed badly by the modeller while being made. In models which don't clip, their reference meshes all seemed to be below and in front of the origin when I had a look in MS, while my Morita Carbine II which clips a little kind of crosses the origin. The only other model I have with bad clipping is the AvP2 shotty though, and although it doesn't go behind the origin, it is a little ways above it, and the reference mesh is VERY BIG.

    I guess (2) isn't very conclusive at all, but it's perhaps something for weapon model makers to bear in mind.

    note: when looking straight up with the ns standard lmg, the scope covers the upgrade sprites.

    and/or jetpack fuel.

    i believe weapon models are drawn over the hud, so you have to position it just right on the screen.

    They would WORK. But there would be missing anims, wrong hitboxes and such.
