one thing though which strikes me confused.

The reason it's shocking is the same as devour, it's human torture. You don't immediatly assume that the marine has been dead for a few minutes or hours. Aliens attack and immediatly go for it.
It's shocking becuase it does not belong. When you click on skulks meal after having seen the cuteness, it WILL be shocking becuase it is unexpected gore in the midst of cuteness, when you were expecting yet another cute picture.
