there is a big problem with the relo th MESS.. on nancy.. all the alien team are gurading 2 locations.. 1 is @ aux .. the other is mess.. if aliens are smart u won't be able to take mess. .. it's just not possable..

It's hard to take mess if everyone rushes through the front door. What I do is either have 1 person rush the front door so all the alins hidingbehind it come out and attack him while the rest jump in and kill the aliens
or.....
I past through the outside of Noname through the vent on the ground and bingo you are on the other side of mess ready to kill all the skulks waiting for you to come through the main doors.
or....
Do a delay rush. Aliens hate sitting in mess all day waiting for you so when they leave rush it.

If there hive is Noname the marines can get to mess before them.

Like I said before I always thought relocating to mess was stupid untill I saw it down right. I don't fully understand the purpose. I think it is so you have the center of the map with the option of attacking anywhere with ease.

Relocating to mess is silly, not well defended enough.

Hard to take too. Harder to hold.

Aliens seem to love that place, better to secure hives or other res points whilst theyre all camping mess hall.

Setting up a forward base only works if the aliens are complete idiots, or if you have an extremely long line of sight. If you relocate too close to their base, one coordinated attack will end with "Team 2 has one the game" extremely fast.

From my experience (and I do have some, I just don't post a lot here,) if you relocate, relocate to the farthest hive from the aliens. This will cause the aliens to rush into the unclaimed hive for dear life, and open you up to resource nodes and killing. With enough res, you can jetpack their main hive to death just as they're beginning to get the second hive up. With no complete hive to respawn them, its easy pickings.

Don;t know where u r playing but when i play the A always take care of the alien res eating skulk.. a very important and boring job.. therefore i think A should relo to the closet hive.. for start it's usally far from main hive.. 2nd it will again usally block the way to the 3rd hive.. thus making it diffcult for a safe gorge passage

Back to the point about insta-seiging. How in the WORLD are you going to sneak 6+ marines all the way to the enemy hive at the START of the game where they are RUSHING? Assuming you DO get there alive, youve know youve won because the skulks suck so badly they cant ambush. So youve won. Assuming the weird possibility of you getting there without your whole team getting slaughtered all the whole alien team getting slaughtered, they have spawn, you dont. Their newly spawned stuff make a difference. Yours dont. Every marine you lose is a major blow. Its 1 man less on your attack. What bout the aliens? One down, spawns and gets into the fray. Youll never succeed. They only remote possibility is if you get an armoury up and mine the whole place like a monkey. Before building and IP there and shooting the hive. But thats just so so very lame.

Yes, the marines outside alien hive will end up as skulk food, but that is if you
1.) rush too early (will inevitably end up meeting skulks)
2.) don't use mines (mines are deadly when coupled with competent marines)

I'm an alien player, and mines are a pain in the arse to skulks. Rather, stay and defend until you foil the initial skulk rush (always happens in pubs). Chances are, they skulks will forget about rushing once they fail. Then equip your marines with mines (about four packs) and send them to the hive. With 20 mines, the aliens will have a pretty hard time getting at your marines. Once you have got an armoury and 2nd rt up, you can reinforce your forward base with mines with impunity. Don't use turrets- they won't save your marines from being torn apart. Task one or two marines with defence, send the rest to the new base. Get a tf, more mines (hopefully they have got no lerks yet). Use medspam if required. Get everyone behind those mines. The aliens will be running in a red laser barricade of doom and ending their lives in a futile attempt to kill your marines.. (use them on walls- covers a wider area). If you can afford it, get someone to go gorge hunting (the aliens will be worrying more about their base then protecting their gorge, and you probably won't have a "elite" skulk accting as bodyguard). One siege is enough- the rest of the res can be used to defend your base with more mines.

And i've seen something like this work before. Some idiot relocated to cargo hive (in nothing) not knowing that it was the alien's initial hive. Needless to say, they held their ground for a good 5 minutes, even though the seige never came up (don't really know why- perhaps people are so indoctrined against tf in base... But i'm sure homo sapiens are smarter than that...)
