    Oh, sorry. I didn't intend to make it seem like I accused you of Googling, especially since the answer is not hope. I just wished that anyone trying to solve the riddle would not resort to using the big G.

    The real answer is "thorn".

    As for the riddle you presented, I think the answer is "nothing".

    I searched for some paradoxes, and I found a somewhat good site <a href='http://www.wordsmith.demon.co.uk/paradoxes/#catch' target='_blank'>here</a>

    One I liked:

    "This sentence is false"

    Along with that: "I am lying" or "I am a liar"

    Also updated my first post on the first page. Charyoo Tree.

    I prefer this one:

    "The following sentence is true. The previous sentence was false." Hence why I never use is, was or any other form of "to be" in amy of my speech or writing. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    And for that Heaven/Hell guard thing - I remember that from my youth because it appeared in a film called LABYRINTH.

    How about this? 45 minus 45 equals 45. <!--emo&:0--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wow.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wow.gif'><!--endemo--> How?

    Uh well aside from my obviously wrong logic problem this was a trick riddle since they weren't the only ones at the party.

    So Answer: The midget and the drag queen. : )

    PS it was supposed to be Jenny is shorter than Tiffany

    PPS sorry to anyone who actually tried to figure it out.

    There are 25 prisoners in a prison, and they make a deal with the warden. Once an hour one of them will be taken from solitary confinement, at random, and put in a room with 2 switches, A and B. They must flip one switch. A makes a lightbulb come on/off, B does nothing. The prisoners will have 1 hour to converse beforehand, then will be put into solitary until one inmate tells the warden that all prisoners have been called into the room at least once.

    If that inmate is right, they all go free. If he is wrong, they all die.

    How do they go free?

    (This is not a trick, use logic on it)

    nothing, I didn't read the text carefully. Let me think now <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

    edit: if they have never been there, they make sure the light is on. And that's all I can say <!--emo&:(--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/sad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='sad.gif'><!--endemo--> Can't think, gotta go sleep now <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> (I drank hot milk and ran a bit so I should sleep well <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->)
    Well thinking is bad for your sleep so I'll stay here but stop thinking <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->

    Easy flip one on then go see if the the lightbulbs glowing <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->

    But seriously I remember this from somewhere, it has to do with flipping one switch on and off a bunch of times.

    I think everyone who is interested has seen it.

    First of all, if the guy is wrong, then everyone is executed, so he only gets one shot of saying when everyone has been called in.

    Now, one guy is assigned to be the counter. He initializes himself to 1. All other prisoners are instructed that if the lightbulb is off, then turn it on once and only once, and never turn it on again, even if they get called in 100 more times. Otherwise, just play with switch B so they dont actually do anything in effect.

    When the counter goes in and sees the light on, he adds one to the counter in his head. Then, he turns the lightbulb off.

    When the counter in his head reaches 25, it means that everyone has flipped on the lightbulb once. He tells the warden that everyone's been through, and they all go free.

    Oh okay, I got one, sorta.

    Supposing time travel was possible, and was invented by a single man. If you went back and time, and killed him before he began his work, would you have ever gone? And would it have ever happened?

    He'd live/die...

    See, if you went back in time and killed him, you'd never be there in the first place because you wouldn't be able to travel through time, so he'd continue his work, and then you'd go back and kill him... it'd be a giant circle or something.

    Btw way I am surprised that no one mentioned The Schrödinger cat "paradox"

    "A modern version involves a cat, trapped in a box, with a two level atom in the excited state. The photon emitted when the atom makes a spontaneous transition to the lower level triggers a high voltage pulse which kills the cat. The quantum state of the cat is thus entangled to the state of the atom. At any time, the atom is in a quantum superposition of the two states. The cat should therefore be also in a quantum superpositions of the "dead" and "alive" states."

    That's not a riddle, it is a thought-experiment. There is nothing what could be solved, it is just phantasy.
