Either that or after you click the place you want to download from, it doesnt lode up.
1. Get me tickets to E3.
2. Get me tickets to The Matrix Reloaded.
3. Get me a copy of Duke Nukem Forever.
Now get-a spendin'!
its got 7 hours
Like hell I'm paying 12.95 a month for that.
If you do manage to download it from somewhere, most likely fileplanet, after all the time you spent doing that, you're probably gonna have to...
Wait another couple hours patching it!
Then, if the servers are up, you may be in business, until you find out that you have to learn a new game interface.
Then, you gotta try to pick a certification or two that you think will help you get started. Chances are that once you manage to get to a fight, you're just going to get owned by someone with alot more certifications than you because of BR (Battle Rank aka Level).
Then, if you join a squad, you're going to experience all the joy of playing games with new people: noob haters, selfish ****, rambos, and llamas. Oh, then there are the people who aren't there to necissarily play, but hunt experience, so if they aren't getting it, they **** and moan.
Oh, and if you want to get to know anyone, the only place you really get to do that is ... I don't know, there is even less social aspect to this than Counter Strike it seems at times.
Oh, and if you want people to defend a base, good luck, you'll probably be by yourself because whenever a side takes over a base, the first thing they do is rush for the next one, rather than making sure the newly hacked base stays on our side, because lets face it, the "precious" exp isn't as big doing that as it is hacking another base.
Hmm, Natural Selection isn't even v1.1 yet, and it kicks this games **** which is at v1.4. I like fragging one guy as much as the next, but there needs to be some way to facilitate social interaction better. Seems kinda funny that something as simple as a ready room in Natural Selection makes it 10 times better, not to mention the other fun multipliers like free and HL mod and cool community.
I started in the Queue at 4pm.
Its mow 11Pm and i have 25minutes to go, i havent disconnected or anything, the timer is wrong. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
Yes, it is repetitive, but it's fun as hell to repeat it.
The vehicle system is bloody brilliant and the fact that you can actually play an FPS (and do well) without the twitch aspect is enjoyable.
I think people just like to complain about the gameplay, which is perfectly fine in my opinion, because they're not willing to pay monthly for a computer game in the first place.
Its not that its not fun. Some of the most fun I've had in a long time. Vehicles are awesome, large battles are awesome. Being in a squad with friends (some are NS peeps too) is great. Actually making a difference is amazing too.
But the thing that makes me want to quit is not crashes or frequent patches or anything like that. No no, its a much more fundamental flaw in the game design that won't be fixed...
I'm tired of fighting for 6 or 7 hours on a base, to finally have victory and secure it for my empire, to finally have won some ground in the war...
... only to log back on the next day and find that one guy came waltzing in at 6am when everybody else was asleep and took the whole damned base for himself. :/
The other thing that bugs me is that there really isn't any way for one team to "win". You cannot completely conquer the other teams. You can't gain control of ALL the territory. The entire game is just an endless stalemate, where at most one team is "more tied" than the other two in only one small area. :/
All games are pretty repetitive, but this kind of repetitiveness just gets kinda boring. I'm quite sure that by the time the PS beta ends I'll probably be completely bored of it.
So yeh, screw fileplanet i got it already.
Download Time: 2 hours.
Total time: 7 hours.
[sarcasam]Gotta love fileplanet[/sarcasam]
