View Distance In Spec Mode

Probably not the "correct" forum for this, I'm afraid.

Some of y'all (those who browse the models/skins section) might know I'm a modeller, and I was wondering if anybody knew if there were simple console commands to bring the camera closer to the player you're watching in spec mode. It'd make it an awful lot easier to test things I make.

If y'all can help, I'd be very grateful.

I'm almost sure about it. There are no zooming controls whatsoever... You can test with one other firend. Let him wlak to a wall and you can turn your camera to "zoom", not going through the wall...

I think that's the best you can do...

yea im pretty sure the best you can do is go roaming. or download the <a href='http://www.swissquake.ch/chumbalum-soft/hlmv' target='_blank'>Half-Life Model Viewer</a> and do your zooming there <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> but i dont think there are any console commands otherwise

The trouble with HLMV is you can't preview how a model looks holding a weapon, for example. And roaming is a little hit and miss unless you catch someone standing still.

I guess I'll just have to carry on the way I do things at the moment - hoping people run near to walls <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
