Help Getting Mic Up And Running

<div class="IPBDescription">the mic isnt doing its thing</div> Could anyone drop me a line explaining how to get my mic installled....i got a new sound card. hercules gamesurround muse dvd 5.1 and updated drivers etc, old ones were uninstalled (the mic input on teh old card was REALLY screwed up, thus i got a new card) but now its like theres no mic at all. I cant even remember if its supposed to show up under device manager. please help.

    Go to every possible source. Check your options on your sound card, make sure its enabled in customize in HL, and most of all, make sure its not muted in sound options ;p

    It could just either be the options in your game, or your mic isnt good enough to do the job, and if its a headset sometimes the setting under sounds in your control panel you might have to change your speakers to headset.
