<div class="IPBDescription">Interesting new concept for hl mods.</div> <b><a href='http://t2k.neotech.cc/ns/tuts/tools/tools.shtml' target='_blank'>DOWNLOAD THE MODEL TRANSPARENCY DLLS HERE!</a></b>
Right now I'm waiting for Delarosa to finish downloading dod 1.0 so he can send me the new dlls but in the meantime look at this
<a href='http://collective.valve-erc.com/index.php?doc=1043360861-70912800' target='_blank'>http://collective.valve-erc.com/index.php?...360861-70912800</a>
Basically, dod 1.0 comes with updated dlls that allow transparency in half-life models. This means if your half-life is updated with the new dlls you can see transparent models in any mod. Once I get the new dlls I'll mess around with the effect and post an example for you guys. This should mean we can add things like the glass panel on the AvP welder!

It seems that the DoD 1.0 installer updates sw.dll and hw.dll to new versions (the rendering part of the HL engine), so its true, the new models with individual texture render modes can be used in any mod.
I guess the next HL update, or CS 1.6, will also include these new dlls for the people who dont play DoD.

Wonderful!! Anyone that has installed DoD v1.0 can have transparency in their models! Im gonna post this on a mappingwebsite (which I am staffmember on (crap english))
Well, here's something I whipped up with my <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=19&t=27571&hl=heavy' target='_blank'>HA visor hack </a>(which I neither finished nor released) showing that it's not perfect by any means.
Then i see blue parts and no transparens-alpha?
You <b>do</b> need the updated hw.dll and sw.dll (that go in your Half-Life folder) that come with it.
howto?
Incidentally, what happens if you *don't* have the DLLs? How does the transparency show up - solid?

checkerboard my boy....
one part of the checker being your transparent color... the other being the one you want it to apear....
my mad "ms paint Slillz" come in handy once in a while
Yeah, this is a great day for HL. =p
There is a god...... and it go's by the name of Valve
I was playing around with it and made this 3D landscape:
2 polygons and one bitmap per layer.
Looks much better in 3d.
the height-map was created with terragen + "tone map" to convert the heightmap into 2 color images.
