According to the trailer, I think that Snake is Big Boss. Not the real Solid Snake as you can play in MGS2. And as you can se in the end, he only has one eye. Big Boss had 1 eye too. As for Snake he has two eyes as everyone else.

The whole thing was Snake running around the Tanker, his Famas firing off tons of rounds. Most notibly in the infamous food storage room shootout.
Obviously, you don't do that in the game. Especially since there's no Famas. But there's no big shell or anything in that trailer either.
My point is just because its set in a jungle doesn't mean the whole game is some massive deviation from the Metal Gear series, which has already stuck to the formula pretty well 5 games already. I'm willing to bet the jungle is just the insertion point, the way it was in Metal Gear (1). And I think that is gonna be pretty cool. :)
And yes, his other eyes blinks but the other one dosent so he cant be Solid Snake. Maybe Big Boss or Solidus Snake. Or maybe not Soldius Snake, he "died" at the end of MGS2.
Big Boss was 60s and 70s? Dang, I was hoping to kill some nazis in Metal Gear: Wolfenstien 3D. O'well. Nice trailer, one of my friends whose's a big Metal Gear fan was very happy seeing it. We believe Snake in the trailer is using a 1911 pistol, a TMP SMG, and a M-16.
