How does one build (and upgrade)?
First, to cut off possible flames... Yes, I've searched, no, I did not find it (though I found other things!) This includes searching for "South Loop", as well as numerous searches for ways around eclipse build problems.
So, can anyone help me? I've seen people build entire bases in South Loop, upgraded tfacs and everything, but I can never build such that things will upgrade. I've been told that "you just have to know how to build", but I apparently do not. Anyone know (and care to inform)?
Thank you for any help you can give.

O ya this is posted somewhere so this aint breaking news to me cause i replied to this topic before on the messed up south loup.
Hmmm now to explain a workaround to this... till 1.1...
Well you know eclipse hive how you have the raised floors surrounding the hive part, all of the raised floors are @ 0 on the z-axis. If you build ALL of the structures you need to be able to upgrade on the LOWER part (ie. not at 0 on z-axis) before you begin building on the raised floors, you can still click on them later (to upgrade). If build @ 0 first (eg. only on the raised parts of eclipse) you can only 'select' the first building you place.. a lot of the time thats a CC, which you can't recycle, and results in a lot of annoyance later. BTW res nodes don't seem to affect this bug at all.
In South Loop, the grating floors are all @ 0, so if you build on the grating you'll only be able to select the first building. But whatever you build on the raised part first (with the res node, not @ 0) you can select later. You could also build down the ramp towards Maintenance hive first (not @ 0).
For example, if u were going to relocate there:
Build CC, IPs, Armoury, Obs, Arms lab, Proto and Tfac ALL up on the raised part of South Loop or down the ramp towards Maint hive. Then you can build anything else you want on the grating around the res node w/o affecting ability to upgrade stuff.
Make sense? Hope so
Some other placement bugs can be handled by placing buildings from an angle by scrolling the screen to the side and only placing near the edge of the screen. Holoroom in ns_hera is one of those places. Might be worth a try if you're still having trouble, however.

The same damn problem is in eclipse and sewer to. We cant upgrade siege, hmg, jp, ha, mt, or any other thing, cuzz it's impossible to select the buildings!
