I think snakpak and ubuu deserve some special thanks for putting out those player demos. I think there's very little that's of similar use to us mediocre grunts than watching a real class act at it. Even/especially the commander demos, those were pretty tight. Some very nice play all around - I cheered when that one guy, Haibain or something, smoked Terminotaur and snakpak.
I have to say that, if any new people want a good lesson in 1.04 lerking, grab RedDragon's demos ASAP.
Quoting from the ReD interviews post-match last night, "...learn gliding and biting...I don't even use spikes." Watch his demos and you'll be a believer in those words.

You need to make sure you have geekplay 6.0. Open the demo file using that program, click 'fix demo' on the top of the interface, then click play demo. It should work, did for me at least.
I don't think I've ever seen so much bhopping. It was crazy.
Lol, someone's a tourney-mode nub. A USA team marine set off the mines in his own base.
The USA team got a bit greedy thinking they could do without carapace for that long, and KOR got a good counterattack in. I was really impressed with how well everyone did without it, though.
Kudos on how well you guys worked together for how little time you spent on the same team. I've always had a heck of a time convincing people to stick together, even in league play, when times get rough. Other than a couple rough spots, the teamwork really showed and paid off. Makes me wonder tho: how long did you guys get to practice together before the big game?

Lol no one knows it but S Korea is one of the worlds leading countires in terms of PC gaming. The World Online Gaming Olympics are held in Seoul SOuth Korea.
S. Korea has certain trade embargos with Japan, So they dont have Nintendo and Playstations. They are mostly known for RTS games. 15million copies of star craft were sold in SK when that game came out for instance.
At the last gaming Olympics, (Computer Gaming World had an article on it last year or so) S. Korea Owned US in RTS games and like sports games. US won in FPS.
It would seem that US just kicks butt when it comes to down and dirty fragging. Of other interest 3 years ago at the E3 a female Quake player from Isreal had a special booth. You could challenge her to first to 5 kills or the highest score or best score out of a certain amount of min. ( I forgot, I still have the article somewhere I save all my magazines) Anyways, by the end of the E3 fair she had single handedly embarrised the male gaming population. Her frag / death numbers were something like
2,700 kills to 21 deaths. No joke. She was pretty hot too If I can dig the article out of my closet Ill post it.
Try the swedish, finnish or uk ns teams if you want a challenge methinks

Anyway, thanks for the help, but I have already seen nearly all of the demos now (thanks to geekplay). Nice games, I was astonished about the good teamwork of the US team. All in all, I think they have earned the win, although the Korean team fought very bravely as well. But the USA had better coordination.
I Would love to see Finland vs. England
Watch out! Finland vs USA propably coming up. We have the finnish nations team ready already, only played one match against a swedish try-out-nations team which we won.
I wish I knew Korean, just so I could hear that madzone guy. Everytime he died he'd scream something over voicecomm - and whatever it was, it made me laugh even without knowing what it meant.

I was under the impression that the Scandinavian countries (Norway, Sweden, Finland) were the best at "fragging". CS is dominated by Scandinavia, and a lot of the top Q3 players/clans come from here as well.

RTS games are extremely popular in Korea, as we all know. Which explains their dominance in that genre, they have more people putting in more playing hours. By comparison FPS'ers seem to be much more popular in the western countries than they are in korea.
If a particular genre is very popular in your country, then your country will produce skilled players of that genre. Common sense.
Since i'm English, and our national passtime is rioting after football matches, i think its safe to assume that we'd kick Korea's **** in an after-match riot :D
These matches were wonderful to watch. Please have more of them!
People gave me a lot of crap for picking primarily American clans for the Veteran program, but these demos show why. They are the best there is right now.

NJ USA well played. Good game Korea!
Also, a great program for playing HL demos is Geekplay. You can find this program at:
http://www.geekboys.org/geekplay/
But it works fine with geekplay, though.
Good game!
