Info:
Natural-Selection doesn't have blood for marines but has for aliens(if can you call green stuff blood). This plugin adds good old red blood to marines just to make game bit more realistic ;)
Installing:
Install like any other metamod plugin.
Cvars:
<ul>
<li>marinebleed_on:
disables plugin with value "0"
<li>marinebleed_gorelevel:
default value is 1. If you want more blood make this larger.
<li>marinebleed_bloodspread:
how much noice to extra blood spread direction angles. default value is 1. 180 cause blood spread every direction.

Notes:
Only works with Natural-Selection!

Does the blood only splat onto the wall after death or is it anytime the marine is hit?

Yes it does go against Flayra's vision. He wanted NS to be free of gore. However, I think this is great as an indication of damage to marines. An alternative might be sparks dropping off the marines armor, like it is shorting out from being pierced. That would be gore-free yet helpful.

Sparks .. yes .. very easy to do .. but probably not noticeable enough

you mean setting marinebleed_gorelevel more than 1? .. and marinebleed_gorelevel 1 is just fine?
Yeah, gore 3 and spread 3 works just fine
At the end of the day, we're the "front line" of HIS mod, so I can see how it's a sticky issue. (No pun intended)

I dont mind the blood/gore, but I do understand the sentiment of keeping the game child-friendly etc.
it registers blood if you are hit, not just when you die.
i'm not sure why we want this to be super kid friendly (no gore) since if you are a kid who is so young that video game gore is bad, you're probably too young to play NS properly?
i'm sure this has been said before, but worth noting.
i think the blood adds a ton of atmosphere to the game, and makes the skulks all the more freaky.
