Jp/hmg

When the info was just coming out about 1.1 it was said that they would not have JP/HMG together anymore. Did this change and why? The combo is just WAY to powerful and is usally the only strat used with marines. They said that it would be too heavy to carry an hmg and use a jp. Can't find the thread right now, but i am looking for it.

JP/HMG is now an onos counter, while fades are going to be the new JP/HMG counter.

It makes sense. The fade spots the JP/HMG, and goes into blink mode. The fade runs around, hides, whatever until the JP is out of fuel (which will now happen no matter what fps), and when the JP lands the fade comes in, unblinks and swipes.

I'd have to say the best oni-counter would be a 5' tall marine dummy made out of shaped C-4 charges.

    SNACK ON THAT, JERK !

Actually, JP/HMG still exists. It's at a much higher level of tech, and something that even the PTs and Vets don't know about yet is that in the next beta version, "heavier" marines act heavier with jetpacks. So a jetpacking HMGer with full ammo is going to have a harder time flying around then an LMG marine or a pistol-only marine.

Are you telling, that it's not that easy to destroy two hives with one flight as a JP/HMGer ? Wow, that's great. Should bring more fun to the fun maps <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> .

    Great news!

Just wondering... when you said 'pistol only', do you mean it's actually viable to carry only a pistol around now?

As of 1.1H (the current PT build), all that was changed about the Pistol was the 6rounds/sec cap.

Haha don't look into it too much, he's just talking about weight. Like you can even drop all your weapons except your knife and be lighter. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->

Hmm... do note that ammo for weapons you don't have don't seem to be counted for weight purposes (at least it doesn't in 1.04) - it might be a good idea to have one guy load up on HMG ammo while another guy carries the actual gun. OTOH, it's probably simpler (if more expensive) for the commander to drop the ammo needed anyhow.

What exactly do you mean by "blink mode"? I was still under the impression that blink still transported you from one place to another. Maybe I just haven't read enough but could you please explain "blink mode".

The new blink is basically super fast celerity + cloaking. You press fire to activate it. You release fire and you move at normal speeds again + uncloak.
Run a search on blink at the bottom of the forum for more.
