Still looks a little grainy, had hoped for a real good quality.
Anyway it looks better than the old one.
btw the first time i played MGS1 it was the best game i have ever played on any console , i played it last week and it still beets MGS2 and most others like it , looking foward to the 3rd tho =D
In other words, only for the PS2.
"What is this, another grand theft auto?"
"No, a sneaking mission!"
"This is no Vice City... go eat snake!"
that was my favorite part. I also liked at the end where Snake takes the guy hostage, demanding a release date. :)
Not really, you got to eat snakes, fishes, wolves, ect. to survive. I think that you spend 3 years in that jungle, so it isn’t so weird that he must eat animals to survive.
This game is very different from the other games, especially Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.
Haven’t really played the old ones on SNES/NES, but they have said that the first game was in the jungle too.
Hideo Kojima (the creator of the Metal Gear series) has said that he has always wanted to a game like this... and now he have done it. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.natural-selection.org/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
Having to eat to stay alive is original, but it could get in the way of the action....
Ah... ok. <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
But that's because Konami wants to show the action ect. in MGS3. When you play its different, you sneak much more.
You see also in the beginning that he sneaks much and hang in the tree with one hand and kills those three guards. But in the rest of the video it?s more action.
Well if he didn’t do something cool like that the video should maybe been very boring, and just sneaking pass all the guards without killing them.
And yes I have played SC, I must admit that SC is much more sneaking than MGS2 and you die more easily (If you don’t play MGS2 on Extreme difficulty).
This trailer makes my pants wet, quite stupendous. But I don't approve of the eating to survive thing. It's gonna give it Animal Crossing elements, which is bad.
All the people saying things similar to this have obviously never seen the trailers for MGS2. Same situation, the whole trailer is Snake running around on the tanking shooting everyone and blowing up everything. No stealth in sight. Obviously, that's not how the final game goes...
Also, if you watch the video it flashes a time across to: the 60's, also a flash of an exact year, I think 1962 (or 63).
This rules out a remake of Metal Gear, as the Outer Heaven incident took place in 1999. Zanzibar was 2001 or somewhere around there, with Shadow Moses being in 2005 and I believe SOL being 2007 for the tanker and of course 2009 for the plant. Solid Snake was in his early 20's and was a complete rookie going into Outer Heaven, as it was his first mission with Foxhound.
Unless some tomfoolery is being done to screw up the entire MGS timeline, there's no way you're playing as *THE* Solid Snake if the game is really set in the 60's, as Snake wasn't even born then.
So who do you play as? My guess is Big Boss. It fits his age, and if you look very carefully at the trailer footage some of it looks as though he only has 1 eye in some parts (usually the scenes where he doesn't have a shirt on, is very angry, and is going Rambo style).
Of course, this doesn't mean the entire game is set in that jungle, or even in the 60's. After all if you were to watch MGS2 trailers and read previews you'd see they didn't say anything at all about the Plant mission. Something similar may be the case here too: A short introduction mission with Big Boss in the jungle in the 60's, and then flash forward in time and have Solid Snake going through the same jungle again (but obviously it'll be altered for gameplay reasons) and then into some enemy base or something...
The only part of this game I'm not lookin forward to is the stupid eating thing. That just looks completely boring. I wanna snap necks, not take part in a wilderness dining simulation...
