For these skulks, they either hit their target or face death. They evolve, they don't use machinery to fight. So either they are perfect at hitting their target, or they die, leaving no room for error, making a much more deadly physical advesary than a human marine counter part.
Of course, natural-selection never really accounts for things such as guns and stuff. heh <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
God Bless you Flayra.... What annoyed me most was the fact that on top of dodging, even if you did get right up at them, they still were exploiting the hitboxes too, making it damned near impossible... Thank you so much...

Sounds like the jumping in 1.1 is perfect, actually it is just like what I would *like* it to be in CS. You get one "free" jump, and if you keep jumping after that it becomes more gimped.
to be honest it just seems noobing the game down even more... i know ill prolly get flamed for this, but NS is really easy (it amazes me how some people can be so poor at the game), but just like in CS, DOD ect all updates seem to make the game much easyer to get into. part of skilled playing is being able to anticipate aliens attacks and dodge them, part of alien skill was being able to hit the marine. now with this new crappy jump thing, its a lot easyer for aliens to kill the marine, so basically rewarding all those whiners who cant avoid anything with a nice easy way to get frags.

You are still able to dodge pretty well with it. All that is really out is bhopping between waypoints, which was basically out already in initial 1.1 patch.
Also you can't.....crawl. Like when you duck and try to crawl forwards you can't. You have to run into a duck to crawl, and then if you let go of forwards to stop crawling you can't resume.
You can still crawl backwards but its ridicuously slow.
Basically marines now have no way of being stealthy at all. That is the biggest change this patch imo.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd--> What's this crawl thing? Is it proning or just moving forward while crouched?

This...really...SUCKS! If I am reading you correctly, then after I press my 'duck' button I can no longer move forward! I can only move backwards at an incredibly slow pace. What the HELL was Flayra thinking? I can kinda understand this if this had to added in to fix bhopping, but still...this is kind of retarded!
Ah, this calms all my fears. As soon as I saw "New jumping similar to CS style added"my heart sank. Great to see Flayra is still the genius we know him to be.
To those who are complainng about ridiculously slow crawling speeds -- I <i>believe</i> that Flay is adding the ability to WALK in NS -- a very effective way of moving stealthily. So don't worry about your waddling speeds being reduced.

i am **** at the jump change... it is fine as is... if u ppl cant cope with predicting a jumping marines movement then u should play the game...
finally... if u really like realism so much... go pick up a gun and go fight a civil war in one of the warring nations now... seoriusly... games arent all about realism... at times... fun comes FIRST
No matter how much the bunny hoppers cry and complain it does not change the fact that its abused. I don't care who you are, you cant jump backward faster then you can run forward.
All this crap about skill is just that.. crap. If the marine was skilled in the first place he would have been ready for the skulk. It should not be the duty of the Alien team to adjust to the problems with the marine team. As it is right now it takes one hell of a good skulk player to fight an average marine player.
I can't wait to see all those hitbox abusing, bhopping marines get owned.
In relation to the crawl thing, OMG a marine cant crawl thro a vent, or an appropriatley named "crawl space"... LMAO that sound a little bit dodgy to me. And lol techen, aliens are as much bunnyhoppers as marines are, and thats fair? I agree bunnyhopping is bad, but everyone has A) tryed it or B) can do it and will use it when it suits them. The HL engine as its father the Quake2 engine will always have "exploting" features, its not a game code, its the backbone of the engine. at its most basic, it is a flexible engine, BUT is also a bad one for dodgyness, here is something for you to try. StickyMarine: On ns_tanith leave the marine base via the right door, just as you ext the little tunnel (now u are in the first outside area marines see, just to the right of you the corner is a tight angle, now run and jump right in that corner, hold toward the corner, instant sticky marine.

Luckily, I hear 1.1i is nothing like CS =D
