Same thing happened to me. Damned ATI cards are dark. So I returned it and got a GF4Ti4600. Ati can go to hell.

I have the same card. Ati Radeon 9000 pro 128 agp. I don't know if you got the 64mb one tho. Mine works just fine. Try going to desktop properties, click on advanced, then click the color tab. There should be a button that says game gamma. Click that then ajust as needed. Also did you read the instructions that came with your card?

Well I used that game gamma thingy and it resets for NS. I have the 128MB one. I dont know what the instructions could possibly tell me about setting gamma? I have already done it thru desktop properties, no luck.

When I had the 9000 and adjusted that "game gamma" bar, it did absolutely nothing. Every half life mod was darker than I like to play it at. I recommend setting the ATI factory on fire and performing ritual sacrifices upon all ATI CEOs.

Did you install the Catalyst drivers or the windows ones?

What I did was use the saphire disk that came with the card, then after words, went to http://mirror.ati.com/support/drivers/win2...onnowdm-2k.html, and downloaded the catylst drivers, My other games (WC3, SOF2, CNCG's) All have brightness adjustments that work really well, but Half-life is nearly un-playable with how dark it as, AT MAX! Anyway, I CAN adjust the gamma to however I like....but whenever I play games the brightness cancels out and goes hardware default. This sucks, I miss NS :'(

I have GF4 TI4200 By Asus. When I go to a NS game, most likely it's pretty darned dark. Then I just press CTRL+ALT+O, gamma/brightness-correction popup pops up (inside the game, game doesn't close), it automaticly loads my basic settings (which are pretty light ) and I just press END to close the popup window and that's it. I have very good looking game after that .

Sometimes Cheating Death says annoying stuff about some window in front of my crosshair lol
