No 'Weld me' sound in 1.1?
The title says it all really. I'm sure you've been there; you're in a group of ha/hmgs and you're heading towards a hive. Things are going great until you hit trouble in the form of a Fade/some skulks/a WOL/something nasty and unexpected. Hopefully the valient heroes triumph over adversary (ie, you kill the miscellaneous nasty thing) and you continue on, only to notice your armour is low. The comm, of course, is giving you medspam support, but what good is 100 hp with 17 armour??? What you now have is an expensive way to make yourself a foot taller.
Hopefully you all have welders, and hopefully you all start welding each other, but there's always, ALWAYS someone who doesnt get welded somehow.
So how do you tell your teammates? You could type 'weld me!', but it is oh so easy to ignore team messages, and even then there's always the 'someone else will do it' attitude.
What I have managed to drag out into 10 lines is:
We need a 'weld me' voice.
Thats it. Thats my point. Bet you wish you'd skipped the bit at the start, dont you
I had HEARD through the proverbial grapevine that a 'weld me' sound was implemented in 1.1, but I didnt notice it in the changelogs.
P.S, before you say it, NO i dont think this belongs in the S&I forum because I am asking if a feature has been implemented, not suggesting a new one.
That is all.
Mr Spock, rasie the sarcasm shields! Divert all power to anti-flame systems!

In fact, there should be a type sprite as well, so that you can see when others are typing and cover them more effectivly. Obviously it would only be visible to your team, otherwise skulks would naturally go for the target that couldnt hit back
also not having voice coms, when im soldiering its harrassing to type weld me in the thick of battle...
a weld me sound (plus icon above head) would be kick ****! it would really help out those newby marines who cant figure out who to weld (on the rare occasions they have their welder out)... as well as vets.

Also when I suggested this I mentioned a "cover me" radio call too, which would also be very useful.
I luv.

I know that in 1.04 the commander can assign marines to "Weld Target At Waypoint". A voice says that and a welding icon appears over the target, be it a vent or whatever. Maybe someone can design a mod that will allow the marine to say "Weld Target at Waypoint" and stick that icon on his own head. There's a halfway solution to our problem.
Next time, post in the suggestions forum so Flay actually reads it *poke*
Definitely ove it to the S&I forum to catch the dev's eyes.
For the sake of cleanliness, (and because I'm incapable of merging the two to one location) I'm choosing to close one. Since this fits better into Ideas and Suggestions, I point you all to this thread's equivalent over there.
