I was thinking the protoss would be a much better fit as the aliens rather than the marines? I mean which sounds better to you? A zealot holding some sort of assault rifle getting killed by a zergling in any sort of combat unless from affar or a zealot (replacing a fade) running down a hall with its PSI blades ready to make mince meat out of any marines in the way!. In 1.1 the zealot is much more suited to the fade as it is pretty much a melee fighter only until 3 hives. Also and blink = cloak+fast running (i know the zealot dident cloak).
probe = Gorge pretty easy to see how they are similer, both build, and roughly same size.
skulk = Im not real sure of this one.... maby the reavers drones? you know those suicidal things... probly best thing for it.
lerk = Intercepter, fast, small, but packs a punch with its spikes/photon blaster things.
onos = Reaver? you know that big worm thing... honestly i dont know. the dragoon is not right and protos dont have any real big ground units.
offensive = Photon cannon, the green goo ball is similer to that blue ball of energy,so the sprite can be redone. not sure about the model because in starcraft its all underground and very wide. maby make it allways deployed?
defensive = Shield battery, same model problem as offensive but im sure you guys will have a solution.
movement = ????
sensory = ????
hive = A sort of mutated nexus?(as in completly changed to fit on the roof) this is more of the modelers choice on how it looks.
rt = that vespine gas extractor.
oh btw i am not a modeler, i am just making a suggestion because i dont want to see the protoss turn out to be nothing like what there suppose to be.

And it is shaky what to use for each alien. It would be much easier for marines.

the skulk is good but the Gorge sund be a reaver

But a Zealot with a Psi blaster would work just as well for marines. Change the marine hit sprite to a burn splash instead of a bullet hole, change the ricochet sound to a plasma splash sound. FInally, make a model on the arm like a psi blade but shoots blasts instead. Then as a knife the blade would charge for draw and extend from the arm piece.
But really Zerg are the only substitutes for Kharra, as they suit them so much and Protoss allied with humans to fight the Zerg remember? Zerg are the eternal foe of the Protoss, especially after they consumed Aiur. So you'd find the Protoss fighting the Zerg alot sooner than you'd find them fighting the Marines.

Sort of, the protoss are a very honourable race as in the value warriors and heroics. Every knowen protoss is a warrior (probes and robots do the work as they are the slaves). The protoss value a great warrior just like most ancient people. So they use melee attacks to show how good of a warrior they are. They only use long ranged attacks when they cant use melee eg in ships, or when they are cripled (dragoons) the kharaa have everything that fits into protoss. The protoss never used hand held weapons the closest they came to an infantry weapon was the dragoon. BUT the dragoon is a zealot injured to teh extend he can no longer function as a warrior. But then again there are protoss assault rifles in ghosts... but ghosts is b00rked.
any way i was jsut sharing my 2c
no no no what im suggesting is instead of doing a protoss marine pack, do a protoss alien pack ONLY because it fits more into the way protoss work. i mean you can make a marine team look like protoss but they wont 'act' like protoss sure you can say 'but the knife can be the psi blade!' yes it could be but how often is it used as a serious weapon? excluding the times where u shoot a skulk a couple times and knife it for laughs.
