<div class="IPBDescription">my 1st character model and 5th model</div> Ok... I have been workin on these for a while and I think it's time to show you how it looks so far.
It's my firts character model and fifth model ever so it got some flaws and unneccessary polys.
At the moment the jetpack model (with pilot helmet and oxygen tube) looks like crap so you will have to wait for that one.
Also a mesher skinner would be needed if anyone is up to mesh this **** up model.
(same mesh can be used for both models except the back of theyr head)
Anyway enough said, here's the spec. :
Male model: verticles 1567 triangles 2823
Female model: verticles 1590 triangles 2853
Original model: verticles 572 triangles 1135

No it's not. I designed it as an futuristic armour for a sas (turned out nothing like it) but now when you mention it it looks very much like the M56 Smartgun gear

Yeah i know its lots of polys and unneccessary stuff like seperate fingers but i hate making lowpoly piles of junk.
Not running a low end system my self so I dont care (sorry all you low enders)
However its my 1st character model so hopefully I will learn to optimize my models better in the future.

Anyway... I dont think you have to worry about that its to high poly for the half-life engine cuz I dont belive that is going to be released. Ofcourse I want to release it but I dont think there are any meshers who would like to mesh it (PM me if you would like to give it a go).

Yeah sure.. just need to fix the smoothing groups first.

When I design futuristic stuff I design them like... well like they shoulden be super space $5.000.000.000 armours & weapons.
I want em to look rough and boxy, like they could take a whole lot of punch without going to pieces.
And all weapons I design use bullet. I hate laser, photon, electric, whatever weapons with 1.000.000 accessories like lasersights and ****.
I like it simple and rough... a weapon you could throw in a wall with all you power without getting totally wrecked.
Maby that isnt how everyone like it but I do.
Now everyone know that.
BTW.
I have been working on attaching the model to the bones and are almost finished (just some final tweaking to do)
Then It will only need to be meshed and skinned... anyone up for it?

my prayers have been answered i am tired of low poly player models and stuff i only like the low poly buildings everything can be like max polys!

yes I am very much aware of the differences in human anatomy and im have been moving around the model to give it a female body for a couple of minutes now. but thx anyway.
Maby I should make a version with the pants outside the boots. but that will be 4 versions of the model then.
Its much more practical to have them tucked down cuz the boots wont fill up with dirt as easy then.
But I will have the straight pants version in mind.
BTW. just finised attaching the the verts to the bones.

Sylver: No worries on pink armour as original skin. This is an army outfit so its going to be grey with tan or gray clothes if i skin it... but first of all need someone to mesh it I dont understand a **** even if i use the tutorials.

I have changed the anathomy now so that the female version isnt as maskulin as the male one with smaller waist etc.
BTW. Having some problem with the animations making the model look wierd while crouching/jumping.
think I have to rebuild the pelvis area to fix it but its the first time I attach verts to bones so maby I just **** it up... If anyone with a little more experience want to try just PM me and I will send you the .smd

anyway Im over at my fathers house for the weekend so I wont be working on it until sunday or monday.
But poeple are going on strike on monday so the school will shut down on tuesday or wednesday next week so I will have a lot of time to work then.

Pretty good player models for 5th model ever. You're learning fast!
But there are issues with your model.
Looks like the only differences between the male and the femal models is the pony tail.
There should be a lot more things to tell them apart.
First, keep the male model as it is and modify the female model.
I suggest you take up anatomy books. You'll see the sudden differences right away.
Most of it consist of difference in proportions in the upper leg regions and at the shoulder area:
<b>Widen the hips</b> a little and make the whole lower part of the torso slimmer... the armor too. You could also tweak the armor so that it really feels that it goes around and over her breast.
<b>Make her shoulders narrower</b> and closer to the neck. Pull down the vertices of the top of the armor to make her neck look a bit taller.
<b>Slim down here harms</b> from wrist to shoulder so it is less "baggy".
Give here hair more volume by raising some vertice of the top of her head.
Oh and plz.. for BOTH models, fix the knee area! it is WAY too narrow compared to the rest. Put armor on the OUTSIDE of them and make the legs thinner.
Make the boots 20% BIGGER then the size of the legs.
Other details:
Give her suttle changes in her armor. A bit less here and there (Like a small back plate or a bit higher). Maker sure her torso is less wide at the base then at the top.. with enough angle to see the difference.
And 1 last thing:
Move the inner elbow area's vertices a bit more INWARDS. A simple trick that makes them bend better during animations <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
Keep at it. Your doing good progress.
And take my advice. I've modeled the human body so many times it's not even funny.
