Muddling Graphics Troubles.

Just recently I began to have a lot of problems with the graphics in NS. My Alien menu is on the upper-left hand corner of the screen, and all the text is jumbled together; if I didn't already know how to move the mouse to upgrade, I wouldn't be able to do anything but run around as a base Skulk.
As a Marine, it's not much trouble, but as a commander I have no pointer. I have to guess where my mouse is pointing, though when I am hovering over something I can see the highlight it normally gets.
Hives always look completely built, no matter what--when I first encountered this problem, I unloaded 300 LMG bullets into a nonexistent hive before I realized what was going on. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
I'm using an Intel 82810 Graphics Controller in Windows ME. I installed a new soundcard awhile ago, but it was weeks before this began, so I doubt that has anything to do with it.
I've been playing NS for awhile, and this just started all of a sudden--I can't think of any changes I made to my computer at all, unless downloading an mp3 or two might have messed up my graphics. <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->
