Why don't we postpone our really long balance posts until 1.1 is out? I know, I know, it sounds a bit daft, but bear with me, its just crazy enough to work! Speculation is good, balance posts about a game you havent played yet are not. I'll leave it at that.

Why do I recall you making wild speculations in the months leading up to NS's release

Thats right, I made wild speculations, but I never complained about balance, thats why I said "Speculation is good, balance posts about a game you haven't played yet are not"

[edit] If your confuzzled about which kind of threads I'm talking about, I mean the "Marines will never win in 1.1" or "Jp nerf = teh suck" posts made by members [/edit]

Yea, whining about balance before even playing and "reasoning" with totally idealistic models is awful. Still, I'd like people to ask more questions from the playtesters about the usefulness of certain skills, their experiences with the new resource models and the possible bugs there are... Heres one for example:

What is the point of "Pheromones" when the "Scent Of Fear" upgrade basically (as I've understood it) gives you a "parasite-radar"? Doesn't Scent Of Fear make Pheromones obsolete for being more "advanced"? If marines leave a trail of pheromones, doesn't this mean you can only follow the trail, but cannot tell if the marine is right around the corner facing you with a full LMG clip? Does pheromones only give advantage to a single player when Scent Of Fear gives away the marines for the whole alien team? With the Scent Of Fear you can predict trough walls where the marines are, but with pheromones you can't?

Thanks for the answer in advance!

Yes noone uses Pheromones, it will probably be replaced before final release.
