Well i've got a new digital camera..

It records video's, i uploaded one to my computer. Its a .avi file but people cant see it except me... Is it because i have a codec for it or what?

All i have is Divx / Xvid codecs.

    Its called BENQ 1300, it saves videos as .avi. I need to know what you need to play a .avi file since it only works on my computer and not my friends.

    sounds like to me the people you send it to need to install the driver for the camera or something... check that link out

    no problem, <a href='http://www.1000files.com/Multimedia_and_Design/Video/STOIK_Video_Converter_1232_Review.html' target='_blank'>something i found on google</a> <---- heres a program i guess that should do just that. what you need a re-encoder to change them. hope this also helps
