Dead Talking To The Living

Can someone clarify how this works at the moment.
I think it works like this:
Dead players can talk to anyone through use of say.
Dead players can't talk to their living team through say_team.
Dead players can talk to their living team via voice chat.
Is that right? If it is, seems kind of silly. Might aswell let dead use team say to talk to their living team. Sometimes I don't want to use voice chat late at night and wake people up.

cannot speak to living players of any team using say,
can speak to own team(both live and dead members) using team_say or voicecomm.
Voicecomm will ONLY be heard by your own team, at all times.
Now, in 1.04, I'm 99% sure that you can always voicechat to your entire team (Living or dead), always say_team to them, and always "say" to everyone. Doesn't matter if you're alive or dead anymore.
say_team works alive or dead.
voicechat works alive or dead.
say works alive or dead.. or does it?
Ever notice that say doesn't work when you have one last marine hiding in a RT and you try to tell the alien team where he is?
I bet $10 (Canadian) that "say" doesn't work after X seconds after you die, but before then, the other team can hear you. This is why the enemy team hears "wow, that was a good shot" and they say "thanks" or the like, yet when the base is totally obliterated and you try conversing to the aliens for a freebie distress beacon, they do not reply.
EDIT: Oh, but teammates can hear you use say anytime in all circumstances (unless they've got you muted).
If you type before the view changes (ie. goes to chasecam), then they can see it. Once you can choose which players you wish to view, at that moment you cant talk to the living.
You can't talk to them again until you spawn..
Me and my bro tested this...would this be a bug? Or an intentional feature? (albeit, a very stupid one..)

I think it's probably intentional - it's useful for desperately informing your team of a mass of approaching enemies, and countering spawncamping

Thank you for clearing that up, I knew there was somthing weird going on cos having typed "their in our hive arghh get there OMG!!!" nobody did anything. Then saying it over voice comm and having people actually screaming in panic themselves. I thought perhaps they just don't read the chat?
I go test this now. <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo-->
Yeah me too - and they respond as though they've understood, even though they haven't died.

See, that's what I used to think... until I kept on seeing enemies talking to our team after a good couple of seconds (around 10 or so) after they died, but not long enough for them to spawn (them being on the marines usually, with the longer wait).
But I might be just me keeping bad timing.
