The Queen's guards are the Scot's Guards, a real fighting regiment with its barracks just down the street. When you drive by you'll notice it is packed with armored fighting vehicles, ready to defend the queen. The Guards are the real deal, with loaded rifles. Nice. One thing that Europe does to great is building. They just have so much unique history. The US never really developed an aristocracy, so our old buildings are just that- crappy old buildings- not elegant and grandiose ones. My area (Philadelphia) has a big chunk of colonial history (I'd say its 50-50 with Boston) and those buildings are just crappy old buildings.
