    Change it to voice_loopback 0.

To expand on Tsungfai's post: voice_loopback 1 is used to echo back your voice to you. If you are recording a demo and want to hear yourself you'd use it so your voice is included in the demo (I think, I've never tested this). Otherwise its most useful ability is to allow you to check your mic and volume levels. For normal gameplay I'd recommend using voice_loopback 0 to help you preserve your sanity.

I have this same problem. Whatever game noises I hear while I try to play get transmitted when I try to use voice comm. Such as when I'm commanding, and I hear a "Your base is under attack" While I'm talking, the whole marine team hears it. When I change voice_loopback to 1 and try to say something, I get a continuous echo that never ceases. The weird thing is I use a headset, not speakers.

To test this out I turned voice_loopback 1 and said something into the mic. I then covered the mic up and I STILL heard my voice echo. I am getting some kind of weird feedback that I need to fix. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
