When And What To Upgrade...
<div class="IPBDescription">video card</div> Hi all, Ive been wondering with those pretty new games at E3 just when and what I should upgrade my video card to.
Ive got a geforce 3, ive never had a single problem with it on any games uptodate, framerate and such are good enough for me. But I fear with future games Im gonna need to upgrade sometimes this year or early next year for super good graphics.
And with all this talk about nvidia being crap now, and ATI being in the lead, I was wondering how long should I wait to get a new card, and which company should I choose from? money is no object. and I dont care if nvidia's best cards now are crap compared to ATI's, what about the future?
And please, no bashing each other company.

Depends if you want:
-only FPS
-any type of AA
-any image enhancement
-don't care about noise generated (even if FlowFX is gone)
-I suppose price.
-The brand you trust the more
-Drivers
-you probably won't notice the difference with your own eyes
Typing that made me feel like i was still in my modern studies exam.

I was running a 166 with some 8meg vid card (by Matrox. Don't know the precise name)
Upgraded to a 1,33 Ghz with GeForce 3 (the first ones)
Upgraded to a 2000+, new board, ddr memory and "new" HDDs
Saving up for whatever card we'll see at end of year, if I can afford it after buying myself a new screen (generic = sucks)
All those people change so much <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->
