Duke Nukem 2
Any good "Freeware" 2D Games?
or just SNES roms.
Zsnes let's you play a lot of snes games, which you have the catridges for of course, by emulating them on your comp. So you can play contra, R-type, metroid, mario, whatever. Really great when you want some oldschool gaming.
Metal Slug Series (3 is the Best!!!) - there are roms for it if you look hard enough.
For the PC, I'd recommend:
<a href='http://www.the-underdogs.org/game.php?id=18' target='_blank'>Abuse</a> - It's an old DOS game; if you want the Win32 version, go <a href='http://www.uidaho.edu/~scot4875/public_html.migrated/' target='_blank'>here</a>
<a href='http://www.soldat.prv.pl/' target='_blank'>Soldat</a> - Like Worms, but it's action. A lot of servers around, so you can play multiplayer pretty easily.
Then there's this game that was mentioned here: <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=10&t=32751&hl=madness' target='_blank'>http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/in...2751&hl=madness</a>
[edit] you could try going to <a href='http://www.dosgamesarchive.com/' target='_blank'>Dos Games Archive</a>. lots of free, old skool games there, although mostly demos [/edit]
Any more? (Wee! I like 2D Games!)
(ok, im english, but, LINKEH PWEESE)
- You need to sign up to get it, and I don't know whether it's the DOS or Windows version.
[edit] Oh, it's windows; BLEH! It can't be too hard to find though... [/edit]
Maybe what your searching for is Raiden...or maybe some decent freeware. Crimson perhaps? Or the almighty <a href='http://lf2.net' target='_blank'>Little Fighters 2</a>?
If that doesn't suite your taste then, of course go rom searching for Metal Slug..and of course I do know of a foreign website full of what your looking for. But I lost the URL in the endless void known as my Hard Drive.
(Crimsonland, Soldat and Elast Mania is paid for! <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif'><!--endemo--> )
EDIT: Oh, and can you search for that link?
the goal is to contruct a brigde, with limited amounts of resourches, that is strong enough carry a train/some cars, sometimes you also have to build it so ships can sail beneath it...

And lets not forget the Mega Man games now...
I kill all translated into english. A top-down 2d shooter, very good, and the best of all, Finnish.
Doesn't work in Win XP. (-v parameter might work, though. Be sure to disable sounds)
The current version is 3.21. TK4 Alpha is coming soon with lots and lots of new features.

I can't live without minigames and NS <!--emo&::nerdy::--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/nerd.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='nerd.gif'><!--endemo-->

Think Worms with only one worm per side, real time instead of turn based, and the worms respawn a la deathmatch in any modern 3d shooter. Keeps score nicely, is incredibly balanced, has plenty of weapons, you get the idea.<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->
Yup.
postcount++
Edit: BTW Liero is a Finnish game too <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
Its v old and unsupported though :/
It's abandonware, so you can download it off the net somewhere probably...
