This could lead to ppl suiciding when faced with death by an enemy to rob them of the kill and the res. You should consider adding in a system where if someone suicides while under attack that last player to attack before they suicide gets the res (unless its a teammate) and in the marines case the team gets the res. This reminds me of the days of tfc when ppl would suicide while infected by an enemy medic. I don't know if suiciding should include getting killed by world spawn (ie the pits in ns_nothing or falling off a high area). <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

In addition I'de like to add that obviously a timer would need to be put in say 1-2 seconds that would prevent bugs such as a marine getting parasited then suiciding later and giving the alien who parasited them res. Also the detection of whether the player who got attacked is dead or not would have to be added.

    That's just 1 to 3 res... not much... I doubt someone would suicide for that.

    Some people do you know, especially when teams get in that "silly mood" they sometimes do.

    Dead is dead, and now they won't drop their weapons either. I don't think it would be much of a problem.

    Still though implementing this could give gorges credit for web kills and give ppl credit for kills if say the marine actually accidently fell and killed themselves :-)

    The "kill" commend is getting way out of hand, just recently I was playing a game on caged and about four jp/hmgs came rushed the hive and when they killed it, and many of us also, they proceded to kill themselves. How lame.

    I either read wrong, or that says that only the alien team gets resources for making a kill so the only reason why marines would kill themselves is if they are low on HP and the comm does not have/will not give medpacks or the marine wants to deny the alien player/team kill resources. But I don't find that much of a problem b/c not many people would like to give up in the middle of a fight just to prevent someone from getting a kill.... (I know I wouldn not)

    I do however, think that the alien <i>team</i> should get 1-3 res to provent spamming, "kill stealing", and as said before, suiciding. And instead of it being random, it could be like this:

    1 res for a "normal" marine.
    2 res for a JP marine.
    3 res for a HA marine.

    or you could switch the JP and HA around... whatever people find harder to kill.

    I don't like the no dropping weapon thing though, and I don't like it even moreso with the lowered costs of the weapons... the prices should have gone up, not down.

    Umm... out of shear curiosity, why did they kill themselves? That seems very counter intuitive...

    Regardless, in PT games I'll see this happen, especially when taking down the larger lifeforms you know theyre sitting on their kill key that they've binded to their mouse or something.

    The evidence that it will happen in pubs is that you have some Veterans doing it, almost as if its some kind of tactic out of sheer genius on their part.

    I still think that any dead marine drop a piece of equipment of some kind that lasts 5secs to be picked up by aliens, and by picking this up the aliens gain res. By doing this you would prevent the marines from killing themselves and if you indeed get stuck you could kill yourself and the aliens would not be able to take it.

    I presume because they slaughtered the last hive. So, technically, they had "won" and committing suicide with worldspawn = more fun than pressing F4.

    For the record, I have my kill key bound and ive been practicing. You can dern well be sure that ill kill myself before I give the enemy free res.

    In Team Fortres I always suicided while infected for 2 reasons.
    1. Stopped him from gettnig a kill. Only pisses the people off who think that individual score matters in a team game
    and
    2. Prevents me from accidently infecting a teammate.

    For maximum effect, <!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1--> bind mouse1 kill <!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->

    bind mouse1 moo

    I always try to kill myself at the end of a game it's fun <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    And tiax, that's the whole POINT he posted. That could be considered an exploit and wouldn't be wanted.

    i like the idea of putting a delay on the kill command...

    or you could have it so that for a marine death, (not by an alien) the aliens all get 1 res each? would seem like a fair way to encourage people to fight to stay alive...

    there are so many reasons why marines kill themselves, its far to easy to do so, think thats the best comment anyone has said on the matter..well done shanks ( even if it wasn't you that said it first - and to be honest i don't care who did <!--emo&:D--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='biggrin.gif'><!--endemo--> )

    Timer on the "kill" command should be considered

    ... oh yeah thats the other point i remember now : Parasiting someone, and they type kill ... what is the point in parasiting as its more usefull to know where they are going rather then having an easy kill. If it takes 5 seconds or so to kill then that might just put them off a little bit
