Ramses, that looks great, now with the lambda logo and everything. Your previous attempt was great looking too, it was only that it didn't fit the NS theme that made it not work.
The CD and CD cover looks good too, but I wonder if it'll look better without the metal ring around Tiny. Leave Tiny as he is now, IMO. :)
Regarding the text, I don't think neither of you have to worry about that. Ramses, your box is great and the text works fine as a placeholder. If (if!) the dev team made a competition they would supply the text you would put on the back of box.
The same with the credits on the back of the CD cover. It's not too important what it says there for now, but I noticed you spelled out the nicknames of both MonsE and Flayra, but left the rest of the nicks out. I think you should either include all the nicks or preferably none of the nicks. Though it's up to the dev team if this were to be a competition. ;)
I hate to point this out, JediYoshi, but I don't think it takes much skill to just copy and paste some stuff together, unlike Ramses box where he actually makes something new. It's not that artistic with just lots of Cory's stuff put together really. If it was possible to make stuff like Ramses's box just by copy and pasting, everyone would do it.
And please save your images as something else than a bipmap(!), JediYoshi. (.bmp)
I replaced the old rusty box with a corrected one, thanks to RhoadsToNowhere(Rust) and Talion(Black&White) for correcting the spelling/grammar. I also removed the Nicknames of Flayra and MonsE. Kassinger: I think your're right, but I also see the text on the box as a VERY IMPORTANT element, as important as the design. *Warning: Shameless self-pimpage in abundance up ahead.*
While I'm sure Rhoads and Talion did everything in their ability to correct the spelling mistakes (teehee) there still exist a few. Now, if you want flawless descriptions, I'm your man .
Just tell me if you want me to further refine it for you.
To be honest, although everything there looks absolutely amazing, it's not the kind of thing that would catch my eye in a videogame store. I think best would be something filled with colour. Not like rainbow, multi-coloured, but filled with detail and lots to look at. A marine side, with dark, techy stuff with shadows and a bunch of buys with large guns and turrets around them looking like they're scared shitless, and on the other side some gooey stuff, a bob hiding in the shadows, barly noticable, a level 3 waiting in the ceiling, a level 5 charging in a hallway in the background, a hive in the top left, and some really freaky enviroment in the background, big words 'NATURAL SELECTION' in the top.
Well, if I were able to do such stuff I had made it already. But as my drawing-skills aren't as good as my Photoshop-skills, I have to wait for more professional concept-art. As long as the game isn't out, i can't even take good screenshots. Try your best Tzarcon, I'm looking forward to your results

Ramses... I love it! The new box is just awesome, I love the simpistic yet stylistic look. The colors and focus of the design are perfect as well... really really great.
My only big complaint with this set would be the jewel case and cdrom. They don't match the style of the box, nor do they match the style of NS. The circled Level5 doesn't fit this all too well. What if you were to do an all black CD, with the evolution chain from the front of your first box on it (inversed, of course). Might look cool, maybe?
At any rate, the silvery theme just doesn't go to well with the mod. I think you've hit the nail right on the head with the box art, and I think it'd be really cool if the rest had a similar theme.
Awesome job!
Edit- Actually, a simplistic box design is FAR more likely to attract someone's attention than a flashy one with stuff plastered all over it. Think, you're walking down the game aisle in the store... what is going to catch your eye? A box plastered with images -thus blending in with everything, or one that is all dark with one prominent, bright feature on it. It's pretty obvious. The simplistic one is going to jump right out at you.
Why, though? Contrast! Contrast looks good, AND catches your eye. The surrounding darkness of a box like Ramses latest one there, will make the name and main image of the box stick out among a crowd. That is why I love simplistic box art. Not to mention it just looks damn cool. (and professional)
Remember guys, flay said he kind of wanted like all the aliens on the box giving descriptions of what they do and such, try a style with that

That's what the fold-out cover is for.
Cyanide: Well, on the back of the box isn't enough space to describe the whole mod, so I decided to list the "important" features as they should impress the reader to take a closer look at the game. ken20banks: Your're right, a simplistic box will catch the customers eyes, but sometimes great action-artwork will do this also. But the artwork also gives you a first impression of the product and company and a simplistic stlye just looks more professional and precious i think.

I can see that there are so many talentet designers out there, but why do you dont make some wallpapers? I mean, there arent so many out.. just copy your ideas from the boxes and you have realy nice wallpapers
I made a wallpaper from the PR-poster i posted in this Thread. Perhaps I'll one of the rusty box...
