I love this thing...
I just drew this up in photoshop over the course of the last few hours... I'm quite happy with it, I'm not usually able to do figures very easily : )

Lighting and perspective looks good. Has a stone statue look to it. I like it, but I would have used a bit more dramatic lighting to give it that dark and sinister look. But that's just me.

Don't get me wrong though, it's a very good image.

yeah there are lots of little inconsistencies everywhere...I can't be bothered touching them up right now though. The lighting is meant to already be quite dramatic, at least to the point of adding an air of mystery around the character.

The funny thing is, I rarely go into these things with the intent of drawing anything in particular... for instance, for this picture I just started messing around and then drew the helmet, and it went on from there...

Looks a lot like Sauron before he got de-ringed in the movie. Very sinister, very nasty.

I think in the US it'd probably be around $400.

    yeah! second = pwnage

maybe have something like arrows or catapault boulders (on fire, naturally) in the background with trails, so you know which way they are going.

    -edit- or a castle wall!

Nah, anything too complicated in the background would take the empasis off the actual figure itself. Plus colour wouldn't fit in at all imo, it would take out the whole 'dark' feeling, atleast in my eyes

Personally I like the first one, its just so.. simple, and sexy, and.... more overly-exaggurated words of praise.

    oh, and (SP)

It costs a lot. Their website (www.adobe.com) says $600 or so, but you can download freeware versions - they just don't last long.
