[vbeta] Marr's Original Radio Pack

<div class="IPBDescription">been working on this for months now</div> Well, I finally got my voice pack in a releasable form, so here it is. A voice pack entirely done by me, with my own voice and my own sound editing skillz.

When I started this I wanted a simple ALIENS voice pack, but ripping sounds from the movie doesn't work because of background noise, music, and of course everyone's got a different voice. Also, none of the lines from the films say stuff like "I need a medpack."

This'll be the first public release, and I consider it version beta 1. Get it here:

<a href='https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=64264' target='_blank'>https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.p...?group_id=64264</a>

Scroll down to <b>Sounds for Natural Selection</b> and click on <b>MarrVoiceBeta1.zip</b>. It's a 1.9 meg download. The .wav files are in 11khz 16-bit wav format. They're actually smaller than the default files, so there souldn't be any problems with performance.

Right now I've only got the marine voices in; the commander voices are still in progress. Try it out and tell me what you think.

BTW, I tried to upload some quick samples, but the board gives me this error:
<!--c1--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>CODE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='CODE'><!--ec1-->THE FOLLOWING ERROR(S) WERE FOUND
You cannot upload this type of file<!--c2--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--ec2-->
Anybody know how to upload .wav files?

    If it gave you that error, chances are the file you were uploading was over the 120k limit. Try a smaller one.

    Wow! Thanks for the kind words.

    I went to work editing my first commander voice recording data, and the takes were poor. Good quality from the mic but bad voice acting on my part. I want to sound a bit more like Gordon, glued to the screen and barking orders, and less like a nerd with a stuffy nose.

    I'll do another session later this week. There are only a few files needed for the commander, so it's a hell of a lot easier than doing the 50 or so lines needed for the marine.

    I tried to get some .wav files uplaoded but the board system just doesn't like me. I had to rip off the extension to get it to upload. So, rename the attachment and stick the .wav back onto the end of the file name and it should play.
