    Disable v-sync.

    Right click on your desktop
    Click Properties
    Settings tab
    Advance
    Click on FX 5200
Look for "OpenGL settings" or something with OpenGL
Then look for v-sync (Vertical Sync).

he'd have to have a really crappy monitor for vsync to bring it down that low
Maybe your power supply isn't powerful enough? FX's suck up a lot of power

Go to the nVidia tab and check everything to Peformance, btw the 5200 is a very **** card. You woulda been better off getting a radeon9000 pro

Isn't the GeForce FX 5200 the MX version?

I just got a GeForce4 Ti4200, and it seems, not sure though, that the frame rate is less than the ones my old GeForce2 MX gave me. I dont think that the GeForce cards are getting better at OpenGL.

Also if you want a constant 100 fps in HalfLife, a new processor is the way to go, not gfx card. I actually think you can get a 100 fps with a GeForce256 or Voodoo and a 2.5 GHz processor.

Aezay is right about the processor

I have a amd 900 thunderbird processor and i have a ATI radeon9000 pro graphics card.

My FPS doesn't go much above 60 and in heavy combat i have about 40 fps.

I tried all the tricks, fixes, tweaks and nothing made the fps any higher.

I playNS in 32 bit with all the high poly mods and sounds and still have 40-60fps.

Only a new porcessor will make the fps go higher.

    Negative...
I upgraded from a 9100 to an FX5200, same as this guy's got, it runs at 100FPS constant on NS...
My best suggestion: read Roobubba's FPS guide (don't have the link at the minute, sorry)
And g'day there tsung, any idea when Big Apple Ownage will b back up?
