Ns Has A Serious Problem

In most NS servers around the world, people prefer marines to aliens. There are always readyroom campers waiting for a chance to join marines.
If they are forced to join randomly, they will F4 and refuse to play as alien. This is common in all NS community around the world.
There is no reason aliens must be human players any more. Even if all aliens are bots, that is enough for those people who stick to marines.
All they want to do is shoot HMG flying in the air against skulks that can not reach them.
NS is becoming like sven-coop.
What do yo think?
Is this really proved in 1.1?

I think that IS because JPs are so overpowered. It's just like winningteamjoiners in CS. People just don't want to join aliens and get raped by a flying hmg'er they can't reach. Once the balance is about equal, we'll see much less teamstacking.
Theyre trying to balance 1.1 much more than 1.04 currently is.
There will no longer be such "cheap" tactics like Jp rush or 2 hive lockdown.
Ok those 2 things are still possible, but a jp-rush will take more time and even if the marines held two hives , the aliens can still go onos !
I for myself love to play the aliens. I guess i play around 70%-80% of my whole time as alien.
A thing you can do for now is to find another server where the people dont prefer one team over the other.
*edit* omg 3 post while i wrote this one , i seriously need to learn 10-finger typing *edit*
I personally like to play both sides, it gets boring playing the same team over and over again, if I went marines the previous round I'll usually go aliens the next, unless teamstacking forces me to do otherwise.
I personally <3 my fatty.

Cheerful, isn't it?
1.1 aliens will be so much more enjoyable i think.
By the way the reason people camp the ready room wanting to join marines is because *most* people find it fun to be them. When ns 1.03 was on, i loved being alien as it was new and exiting, now having my weak **** skulk shot to bits by a marine doesnt seem so much fun anymore, so i just join marines most of the game unless a lot of good players i know join aliens.
all other games today(5) were won by aliens...
It's even more fun beeing alien when you get more hives, but unfortunately if marines jp/hmg or ha/hmg pretty early it's the most boring thing ever. It's like a common fact that if can win, they just sit around getting tf's at every rt while the most aliens can do are
However, playing aliens 10 times in a row does get boring, so I try to go marine but those idiots just sit there for hours until they get in.
just yesterday I had a match on a public server... 7vs7 on bast.
I was playing as Alien and we managed to fight them back at Atmo and containing them in their base.
Once our second hive was up, one of those whiners rejoined the game and joined our team.
A few minutes later the game was over and that guy called the marines stupid noobs...
I see such things almost every day, so I try to play on servers that have a good amount of Clan-Players on them.
I hope with 1.1 more players will like playing as Alien as I do.

nah, it's not funny, it true
I was one of those people who didn't get to play as marines untill there was the auto team balance (simply b/c I can't stand unfair teams)
It got to the point with me where I was exploiting the 'you can't mute me' factor and spaming them with insults (That was a low day for me)
but yah 'they have guns' just about summs it up. I for one can't wait till 1.1 I wana see these 'rude awakenings' first hand

Hehe, join the club, in fact, I'm still like that, although I don't even have a choice this time around, I'm starting to get worse and worse at marines.
However, I cannot say I never join the marine doorway stackers. Right now, marines have a greater diversity of strategies (note that I didn't say VIABLE strategies), especially if you know the person in comm and they don't really give a rat's arse about winning or losing. On the alien team, unless I feel like gorging, and often being yelled at, I normally don't get to see anything but the DMS (however, on a pub, I'll drop movement, for fun!) That's no doubt part of the effect on pubs as well.
There's also the aspect that, as it is, losing on a pub as marines is more fun than losing as aliens. Aliens tend to lose to either a jp rush or a heavy armor train on pubs (in my experience), and one of those is downright dull, and the other just plain frustrating. As marines, you either lose to fades, which is fun, or onos, which is more fun, or babblers, which are super fun!
I play pretty much all on voogru NSA servers. I noticed the team join camping happends for both aliens and marines.
And could anyone explain to me why a 2 hive lock down is considered "cheap"? That was a pretty legit (and relatively hard to pull off) tactic pre 1.04.
1) About every newbie guide suggests "play Marines first when starting to play"
2) Learning curve from each other shooter is much lower when joining Marines.
Well, starting as a Marine is like playing about every other FPS. You have a gun, run around and kill stuff (at the beginning, when you still learn!)
As an Alien, you need to know a LOT more, you need to know which upgrades are best suited for each race, you need to know which race is suited best for each different type of attack (assault, distance, scout, combo).
You need to know the maps better, a LOT better.
Each race has different modes of attack to employ, each with weaknesses and strengths.
What happens when I choose race A with upgrades C and D? What if upgrade B?
HUH?!?!?
As Marine... you got your gun.. sometimes a heavier one.. but the best thing is, you dont really have an option.. you are happy when all over a sudden a hail of HMG JP/HA rains down on you. It's "magic". Nothing you have a grip on.. cuz it's the COMM who issues ..
YOU JUST DO YOUR PART. You don't have a lot of responsibility than staying alive and following orders.
As Alien, as already stated, you have to make those decisions by yourself. And it takes a while to figure out what works and what not. You are your own master.
I think a factor is many players are repelled by the high LAien learning curve. It's steep. But since they dont try, they don't know how much FUN it is to play an entirely different style, and more important, if you know how to play as Alien, you know how to play BETTER as Marine, and vice versa.
60% of my time is still spent on floors, however, 80% of that 60% is spent getting somewhere; 20% of the 60% is spent in combat. I climb on walls, can usually make it on a outside 90 degree angle. think of the letter L; .L the "." is me, and thats the outside corner i can usually get around with ease. Outside 90 degree angles are difficulut for anyone to traverse, but i can do it well enough to save myself.
The other 40% is spent on walls/ceilings. Average alien players spent 80 to 90 percent of their time on the ground... some of them hardly strafe-jump.
Learning curve is much less steep on marines, because you dont have to think in 3D so much; you're usually stuck to the floor. Aliens though, aliens have to visualize how they will attack, move, and ambush. Aliens is more "unconsious" thinking, where you do things on impulse rather than thought; sometimes i visualize a hallway im about to go down, how marines will act, etc without even thinking about it. Aliens must then think in far more 3D terms and when you think in 3D, probability, and nature of the enemy things become a whole lot harder.
How will a JPer react to a wall of lame (WoL)? A forest of chambers? Chambers on the hive? How do i get onto the hive the quickest way? Can i get on the hive at all? Can someone help me get on it? When im a skulk, do i have to wall-walk to get on the hive? Once im on it, is there enough space for a chamber? Is it a waste of time? Will a marine ever get up there, anyways?
but the REAL kicker is:
Will someone help me figure out how to do what i want and need to do? -Learning curves kill.
Also, I don't see this problem at all, so I don't think it is a "NS" problem but a "server" problem. On a server with mostly newbies or a certain type (that we try to keep away from our servers) I guess Marines could be stakced, on my standard server usually 80-90% of people go random, which means randome doesn't actually equal alien.
It's a people problem, not a game problem.
I wondered sometimes, why people play NS. Completely new and novel FPS! Choose marines and pretend its Quake!
