Well that pretty much sums it up.

I'd just like to say:

I'm not the best player around. In fact I'm down right average -> below average. This is my post in objection to the sheer number of people saying things like

"I completely own as lerk"
and
"I always get 30+ leap kills per clan game"

etc etc

here's a flash, there's ALWAYS someone better than you at EVERYTHING (until such time as you're proven the rightful king of a skill/game, eg by contest).

No-one likes a boaster. It's a sure-fire way to rub people up the wrong way and earn yourself a significant amount of disrespect.

So, in objection to this, I suck. I'm proud of sucking, and I have fun while I'm playing (most of the time <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'>). I seek to improve, but seek moreover to maintain the fun in the process.

Rather a pointless thread I suppose, so sorry about that, just wanted to get that off my chest.

I suppose I should say something I suck at...like comm. I suck at comm. Hard.

I couldn't do a succesful JP/HMG rush if you gave me a 1000 res. I have no hotkeys bound for 'drop health' or anything else. My marines never get WP or ammo or health or anything. When I'm on the marines and you see me saying,"Somebody better comm or I'll do it" you damn well better hop in that chair, hehehee...

And that, my friends, is why I play aliens.

I own as Onos but only because Onos owns even as dead. I own less than others as Onos.

Ownage as a fade is simple. And you can't be called a rocket spammer either. Get redemtion and celerity and you'll never die. Since you are fast you take damage more slowly and redemtion saves your butt countless times. As for skulk I recommend You click once per each bite, and don't go crazy with the biting. I'm pretty good at melee but I suck as comm/gorge.

Im fairly sucktastic in general, although I try to blame it on my shabby PC / net connection (20 fps, 250 ms <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/mad.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='mad.gif'> ). Occasionally I go on a rampage of not sucking at the start of a game and pwn all the LPBs for about 10 minutes, then the late game lag sets in and I cry as my PC slows down to nothingness. Then I take up my favourite hobby - chasing fades with the pistol. It's always a shame when the other rines on your team sit around near some turrets, letting fades do hit+run without chasing them.

At least I don't suck at DOD, shame my PC hates 1.0 with a vengence.

Not as bad as me at jetpacking anyway... I'm proud to be the one who causes jp/hmg rushes to fail by slamming into a wall at 30000000 mph and invariably landing on top of an offence chamber and 6 skulks (even tho I have 99fps and can fly forever... <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'> )

a... a.... fade beats me in top score (crys).. i try my hardest.. i do but somtimes you just cant keep up with the acid rocket spam. a skulk can try his hardest but somtimes the deck is stacked agianst him.

Oh, oh, metoo, metoo! I TOTALLY suck at comming, hence I never, NEVER do it. I'll see my team lose before I even do so much as get into the cc and build an IP. No sir, this marine ain't comming!
Which is why I prefer aliens. I don't roally suck as a gorge, in fact I am proud to say (there goes the bragging again) that I have <b>seen people who were worse gorges than me!</b> OMG!
I am a good fade and a great onos (no wonder, given that both lifeforms have more armor than a tank and pack more punch than one too). I rarely get killed as a lerk because once I have invested 33 res, I'm wimpy. As a skulk, I am either a meaty bullet shield for the gorge, a diversion, or a wandering SC (spotting and parasiting marines so someone better can come and kill them).
BUT, I always try to improve. I TRY to kill those marines. I jump into a group of four marines biting wildly, knowing that I WILL die, but that I maybe, just MAYBE, can take one or two with me. I throw myself at profusely high numbers of marines in a reckless attempt to buy the gorge time to get away. I leap around like an idiot, and though I don't get kills this way (indeed, when I leap for a marine, I usually end up further away from him than I was at the beginning), I survive for a longer time, and waste more of his ammo, giving the good players a chance to get him.
No, I ain't "teh pwn", but I like to think that I help my team a little. <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>

I refuse to comm although I don't mind gorging. Pretty poor at lerk and skulk (gonna try that single bite thing though). OK as vanilla marine. Used to avoid jps before I upgraded my PC.

Blah, I suck pretty bad too. Well, as marines anyway. I'm an average alien, but as marines I might as well knife that skulk to death. I have no chance of hitting it, unless they travel in a straight line towards me. I can, like, OMG, actually kill marines as skulk, but that doesn't matter, because in the next two mins the marines are gonna have JP HMG anyway. Oh yeah, can't forget about my fps. Most of the time I have about 8-15 fps, even below that when I'm in the middle of a huge firefight. I can fly about 3 feet, then fall to my doom. My 486 mHz pwns j00!

Hmm.. I'm average. I can kill, but mostly get killed (hence the name fo Fodder). But rather than say you suck, look at what you are good at and focus there. This is a team game and I see so many teams that can shoot, but die because they cannot organize. My main trait is recon. I tend to go scout and report back via voice. This gives the team a tactical advantage to know where the team is and what they are doing. I also tend to focus on taking out res towers and (if marine) building.
As a skulk, I tend to stay skulk, or possibly go fade with redemption, because I know that I can weaken a front position by continually suicide attacking it. But, rather than waste valuable resources doing it as fade, I use vanilla skulks so others can use the res points. Once I soften the position, the team comes in and cleans up (most commanders don't bother with a single suicide skulk until I have already rallied tah team to finish it off - well, unless the comm knows me <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'>
You don't have to pwn in NS to be a great asset to the team. In fact, a well organized group of average players will outplay a group of regegade vets any day.

Also no matter how much roo says he sucks, or how all the regulars who play there say they do too, roo's server still has the highest level of public play i've seen on any UK pub server, where the LMG is king, and a fade without a lerk there is toffee.
a bunch of average skilled players on a server makes a higher skilled game thant 4 elite playes and 8 nubblings on a server <img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'>
