First a few apologies are in order. One for a mistake i made in a post about the music video. I did indeed say the end of the month meaning the end of May.
So why is there no Boondock marines music video?
Well there are a number of reasons. I guess I'll just list them:
1. Two of the key people involved in the making of this video left on vacation. I'm not at all blaming these guys in anyway, they're great people, but it did mean we had to put production on hold for a while.
2. Exams, exams and more exams. So since the above guys were on vacation the only person to work on the video left was me and I had 3 weeks of grueling exams. Which I'm happy to add I've now finished.
3. I've recently formatted my PC and have to re-install a load of the applications and download drivers etc.
4. I'm notoriuosly lazy.
5. The manual labour is intense. First we have to film the shots in the engine using multiple actors who don't always co-operate at first. After co-ordinating everyone multiple recordings have to be done. Sometimes, due to not having HLTV, all the shots come out wrong. This takes time. The shots then have to be turned into individual bitmap images. Thos images then have to be turned into divx movies which are then edited in Premiere. It's very time-consuming.
Are you guys paying homage to Duke Nukem Forever?
Heh. No.
Team Fortress 2 then?
Look, no okay!!!! We will be releasing this video. I made a mistake giving out release dates and I should have looked more carefully into this. The video will be finished even if i have sit for weeks in my own effluence to get it finished. I'm not however going to give a fixed date but I am saying this is not going to go over into July. End of the month? Maybe, maybe sooner. Patience is the key here and I know it is very frustrating, I just want to make sure this video is what it intended to be - a homage to the NS community who themselves put so much work into doing the shots - and not just some half-hearted effort. So I'm going to do it properly. And that takes time.
Just be thankful that this video will be released and to the best of our abilities.
