Circular Beams

For those who are familiar with circle beam effects.. Is there a way to make the circle beam vertical, not horizonal?
I want it like this O not like this _ . I moved the 2 func_trains in vertical position but then the beam has a thickness of 0, so it's a straight line.

    ummm... env_beam and x_target (sorry, i dont know if its just "target" or "info_target", dude. i dont see the use for two func_trains... then again i havn't used beams much.

    you should try the env_beam.

    make the env_beam's target the x_target

    it should work then... and if for the original way you tried, put a wider thickness.

    wish i could've been of more help. <!--emo&???--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/confused.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='confused.gif'><!--endemo-->

    The ring effect flag for beams cannot be vertical, I've already tried this and nothing works. It's solely a hack for horizontal rings like the one used in the HL SP lab experiment gone wrong sequence. If the two target entities are not horizontally level with each other the beam won't work right.

    If you need it vertical, you'll need to make it out of multiple beams and targets, like 12 or 16 beams arrayed in a circular pattern. It's rather messy that way and not perfect, but the only recourse.
