<div class="IPBDescription">the clash of the somethings</div> wow, kiwi versus the platypus.

which is funnier? which one would you rather keep for a pet?
hopefully we can figure some of these things out.

First off what the hell is a kiwi? isn't that a fruit?
Well yeah it is a fruit but it's also a bird(a kiwi <a href='http://www.bestwestern.co.nz/images/kiwi.jpg' target='_blank'> <a href='http://www.bestwestern.co.nz/images/kiwi.jpg' target='_blank'>http://www.bestwestern.co.nz/images/kiwi.jpg</a> </a>), the national bird of new zealand no less. they are small with hair like feathers and wings that you can't really detect. they basicly look like brown shmoos with beaks.(a shmoo <a href='http://www.lil-abner.com/shmooalb.html' target='_blank'>http://www.lil-abner.com/shmooalb.html</a>). kiwi's like to hide a lot and stand over their one big egg. they seem to have wiskers, can you see them too?

Next is a platypus, we all know what these things are(just in case <a href='http://www.gospelcom.net/watkins/platypus.jpg' target='_blank'>http://www.gospelcom.net/watkins/platypus.jpg</a>). Now you can't tell me that the platypus isn't completly insane, it's like a beaver duck. These guys are just insane, poisonous, born from eggs with fur, build in radar, ear lids(WTH?). it may be a bit too over the top.

Now let's see what you have to say. I like the subtle kiwi as my favorite of the two, but it's not to say that i don't like them both.

No, they're not broken, you just have to remove the last bracket in the url:s.
    Here are the real ones:
    <a href='http://www.bestwestern.co.nz/images/kiwi.jpg' target='_blank'>http://www.bestwestern.co.nz/images/kiwi.jpg</a>
    <a href='http://www.lil-abner.com/shmooalb.html' target='_blank'>http://www.lil-abner.com/shmooalb.html</a>
    <a href='http://www.gospelcom.net/watkins/platypus.jpg' target='_blank'>http://www.gospelcom.net/watkins/platypus.jpg</a>
Btw, uber_tweed, I really think you should put a space between the urls and the brackets.

    Tough one...

Kiwi lays eggs that are bigger than the bird itself, but platypus is an egg-laying mammal, which in itself is a true rarity although I know of atleast one other critter that also does so, even though the said critter has been extinct for atleast 100 million years.

I'd have to go with the platypus, since it is a living fossil. Does anyone know why they have a clawed back toe that's poisonous? Do they use it for anything?

    It's 'platypi', I believe.

and god, why does everyone forget about the spiked-anteater/echidna?! That's a mammal and it lays eggs!

Both the echidna and the platypus come from Austrailia. I am smart. I have said something intelligent. Now I will dunk my head in chocolate syrup.

Platypus wins. Why? Because it has the funnier name. Since my main languages are danish and german, I never actually knew what a platypus is (until I saw the picture, thanks for enlightening me). Why? The names I know the animal under are NOWHERE similar to "platypus". In fact, the german name "Schnabeltier" and the danish one "næbdyr" (yes, I know that many people, including but not limited to George Michæl, consider "æ" to be cool, yet have no idea where it comes from) both translate to "beak animal". So there, no wonder I had no idea what a platypus is.
