I'm guessing there will be another playtest, since this one allows your map to be a beta version. I'm still working on the readyroom in my map, and I started the map earlier this week. I'm one of those mappers who builds maps room-by-room. The map I started a month ago I deleted, due to unbalanced gameplay and crowded rooms.

Reborn (or anyone), your level has to be finished (minus various misc things here and there) and submitted by June 28th if you want it to be considered for inclusion in the first NS release. There are no more second chances *for version 1* after this. As chrome said, If your level is quality enough to be included in the game, you'll have to wait until a later release if you don't hit the deadline. Which is tomorrow. It's there for a reason... If you want your level in the first NS release, it MUST be submitted by the 28th. If you are planning to submit it for a later release of the game, take your time.

There will be other playtests for map inclusions, yes... but you must realize that the 28th is the absolute due date for a playable version of your level if you want it in the *first* release. I'm not sure some of you understand this, so... just thought I'd (attempt to) clarify.

No rumours or guessing on this please - it confuses people:

If you do not make the 12 noon deadline on Friday the 28th, your map will not be in the NS Version 1.0 release.

Working on a project means making deadlines. If we waited for everyone who said they would do a map then vanished, we'd be here until doom's day. There have been about 50 community mappers come and gone since I first found NS. Just take your time, finish your map, then wait for the next community submission window and you can send it in.

I assume there will be mappacks.... and I don't think that NS will disavow the idea of third-party maps released in-between public versions of the mod. People won't have to wait until the next version of NS comes out simply to get their map into server rotation (although it might be a bit more difficult if it's not one of the default maps that comes with the installer).

Bottom line: if your map is good enough, people will play it, regardless of when it is released.

We'll be updating NS quite regularly, so you probably won't have to wait long until the next map submission deadline rolls around.
