best be good
DOD retail is horrible. the wonderful crosshair is gone and weapon animations are different (like the thompson, it longer has that cool reload animation) if NS is going retail, i want it to be just the same. no change in it whatsoever.

NOTE: Since some of you don't seem to see if the IF part, I shall say this bluntly. NS is not going retail right now or anything like that.

Well, I hope you don't mind the fact that 1.1 is different from 1.0

DOD retail is exactly the same as DOD 1.0.

DoD v4.0/1.0 is now CS 1944. I have lost all faith in Day of Defeat. Just goes to show you, any Half-Life mod that goes retail ends up turning into crap..

CS turned to crap long before it wen't retail, and DOD 1.0 is definitely not crap, but it is worse than the previous versions. I would still buy NS retail though, there is no way valve could screw it up that bad.

If ns goes retail, it won't be for a LOOOOONG time, so maybe we should wait until then.

It doesn't matter; you can mod it so that the old cursor is back and you get the old weapon models/animations. The latter may give you consistancy problems, but that's your trouble, now isn't it :-p

NS deserves to be able to go retail. I'd buy it. For me its the best game out there right now.

Well, I'll give you 100% reassurance that VALVe won't be touching NS. Flayra has already stated if he does NS retail, it won't be thru VALVe.

Valve has already made a handful of retail versions of Half-Life mods. They've most likely been doing this to keep the public distracted so they could continue work on HL2.

Now that HL2 is closing into its release date, I don't see why Valve would need to turn NS into a standalone retail game.

My good grief people..... why yell about DoD when you can still download it with that awsome reload and everything else. And I'm pretty darn sure that these people won't go off and do something stupid like that, but i do think that they should convert it toward the HL2 engine. NS will always be free isn't that what they said? I don't recall the creating team to CS promising that it will always be free. And one more thing Valve isn't that bad even though they can screw things up. For example their anti-cheat protection got my friend banned from every CS server ever made for about 6 months::siege::

    Comprox here.
Step 1, No need for all that colour budy.
Step 2. We all simmer down as I lock this thread.
