Alien vision mode

<div class="IPBDescription">Here's a pic</div>I've been wanting to add a separate vision mode for the aliens for a long time.  I know a lot of people want this as well.  So here's what happens when an alien hits his "flashlight" key.  All teammates and alien structures are immediately highlighted, as the hive mind is showing you where they all are:

I also have an alien upgrade that allows an alien to see all his enemies like this as well... :)

    Amazing. Anyways it's kinda wierd that you're making small little updates only on the first realese. But if it'll make the MOD better than by all means continue.

    does the alien 'flashlight' light up the area as well as highlighting teammates and alien structures?

    Flayra has once again busted through the barriers that we could only contemplate trying to climb.  Will this alien flashlight illuminate marines that are in the line of sight of another alien?  Will it illuminate marines at all?  What about marine structures?

    hey monse do u read alought?  i read alought and i can understand crappy writting lol. but i said isnt it kidna unfair if they can see the enemy? i mean they can see each other or does the enemy have to be like in rang and doestn appear on radar or something? i think the marines are gonna need better and bigger wepeons.

    They do have some sweet little weapons.  So this is one of the "missing" alien abilities.  Been wondering what "Enhanced Hive Sight" was supposed to do.

    And for the flashlight idea, it still wouldn't help when I'm stuck in the dark, but it rocks!

    And what is that alien in the middle?  It looks like that dinosaur that spitted the black goo (and neck frill) in Jurassic Park.

    @ Hida: If I take the five possible alien classes in this mod I would say its a lvl3.

    Topic: Wow! This is quite amazing.
    I was just wondering that you don't have hivesight in the pic.
    Is hivesight turned of when turning on the 'flashlight'? Or do you only have hivesight if an alien/alien structure isn't in you direct line of sight?

    Hive sight is a universal thing for the aliens, all of the hives show up on the map by little blips, and any marine or other alien in your line of sight also show up. STC.

    Feature complete means only "nothing new to add anymore". We'll still see a whole lot of tweaks, bugfixes, and also minor changes before this baby actually hits the mirrors.

    This is how I imagined hivesight when I first read about it. Being able to see the actual models of the other players instead of 'dots'. :)

    Yeah, Kassinger.  That's one of the better parts of NS.  Not making it so that you can't cheat, but making it so that there's really no point to it.  (motiontracking, hive sight, etc.)  <!--emo&;)--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/wink.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=';)'><!--endemo-->

    Look's like a good implemention...I've been wondering what the alien will do for the flashlight bind for a while now.

    Does it show up aliens THROUGH walls? If so, I'm assuming that the reason it's toggable is because the polycount would skyrocket when being able to see all those bobses.

    I'm not sure, but I think that the highlighted models show up when in line of sight. This may not seem like an advantage right off, but imagine how handy it might be in the fog hallway in Hera or various misc vents and other dar crannies. Im not certain, but I think theat flay will keep the blobs for those that are behidn walls (more IMHOP anyway).     1) are you able to see through walls with this. Maybe a slight  silhouette (I spelled it right <!--emo&:D--><img src="http://www.natural-selection.org/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/biggrin.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':D'><!--endemo-->) of your teammates will appear through the wall

    2) are the marines also highlighted?

    There's no such wonder as a modelhack. It's the llamas that use it call it that.
     
      Isn't that the models set to texture rendermode?

      If it is then you gotta watch out for complications that hppen when they overlap each other. At least it happens to brushes when they are set to texture rendermode. Anyway looks good.
