<div class="IPBDescription">a step into the past</div> Ok, I admit it, I didn't find a time machine. However I did take a step back in time.
About 2 hours ago my GeForce3 nuked itself (we won't get into details, just consider it dead). So I went around looking through some old boxes for a pci video card. To my amazement I found one all covered in dust. At first I thought it was a soundcard since it didn't have one of those large gpu fans that I'm used to.
So I pop it in and am blazing trails at 800x600 with 16bit color. WOOHOO!!!!!
Hehehehehe, it's so weird having this video card in here. Cuz I have all these games installed, and I can't play a single damn one.
And think about it, at one time this was considered top of the line!
Oh well, just thought I'd rant to pass the time since I can't play any games :/

That doesn't really make sense...
I looked around and it looks like I can at least take my pick from the geforce4's for around $100
Unreal 2. Wow.
Very pitiful video card you've got there.
ISA Cirris Logic w/ max 640x480 res, 60hz, 256 color, and 1 whopping MB of memory 4 eva!

Too bad PCI sucks and the entire industry including voodoo went under and i had to search around on odd sites to find the new drivers.
Oh well that was a while ago and now i have my newer pv with its newer geforce card. and Im happy.
and a friend of mine is still using his Viper video card in his 300 MHz typewriter <!--emo&;)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif'><!--endemo-->
It may not be DX9 compatible(sp?) but where the hell did you hear it won't be able to run HL2 and Doom III? Doom III needs a powerful enough card like the GeForce 2 64MB and HL2 probably the same. But on Doom III you'll need a computer faster than a 1.5 and around 512 DDR ram to run in near good smooth frame rate. (The reason why I know the RAM stuff is that I downloaded the alpha version ,but don't ask for it cause I will reject all, and we had 128 DDR RAM in our computer at the moment and it was around 10-15 fps then we added another 128 to give it to 256 and it ran to 20-30 fps if it is not interupted by anything. So that's basically the report on that) Oh and computer sepcs on HL2 is needing a P3 700MHZ computer at the min.
iirc it gets 30 fps in tfc!
