My Demos,

Not ordinary strats?
The reason Iv recorded these demos is after watching EU vs US match and listening to flayra going for an arms lab first seems to be the most common strat. I belive that MT is the best tool to start off with as even with lvl2 cara iv found people can take skulks out easier , it also allows people to guard more than 1 res node at a time.

demo of me commanding on Tanith on the blueyonder server , as demos dont record the HUD its hard to see whats going on, but shows good troop movement and a slightly diffrent commanding style.

Another demo from BY, this time eclipse.

These are from pub servers cause my clan doesnt play many games atm but during clan games this tactic is very usefull too. Also the download is a .cab cause its about 2megs smaller than .zip, and i dont have much web space left I think windows XP can open them like zips if not I use Power Archiver to open them

MT helps, but with teamUS/EU they are probably good enough to be able to hear skulks coming in close to them **headhpones make all the difference**, hence MT would not be as helpfull as say the average pubber who just has the basic speaker set.

I love it when marines dont' get motion track...makes my silent upgrade all the better

Weap upgrades are needed cos once the Skulks get L3 cara, you need to hit pretty much with every shot after you see them, and for pubbers at least that is impossible. And when you're up against a GOOD skulk with L3 cara, and you have no weap upgrades.... well, shredded meat is all i can say

thats pritty much true for normal feild battels but the way i see it is that most of the players i play with are top class and can kill skulks fairly easy , the reason i always go for MT is that it shows you where there gorge is and if there going to rush you from some where. iv the last 2 weeks of me playing i dont think iv made a 2 hive lock down , whitch means that it gives the aliens a chance to win if they are good enough, i dont really like jp/hmg tbh i like to the hives because it means that when a hive goes down it stays down and clears most of the defence from the room.

do you think it would be a good idea to make a demo with commentry and post it in the new player forums btw?

Extract them and put them in sierra/half-life/ns
open ns and bring up the console, type
    playdemo by
    or
    playdemo by2

if you want to play them at a faster speed type

    playdemo by 1.5
    for 1.5 times the speed

I go with MT first sometimes. Its generally safer because if I can't really gauge my marines abilities then I go with it. If I know they are hotshots then I go with my standard build (i.e. tech rush --> JP/HMG) or if they are just that friggin' good I go straight to JPs with LMGs.

But there are benefits to the commander being able to see all alien movement (if it isn't bugged anyway). I personally love it. I also love it for the fact that I can let all marines loose on the field while I can play base defender. What I usually do is notice any red blips move nearby the base, and I jump out the comm chair before they come into the room. But I won't jump out if it's this huge attack group cause I know I will die. Even one skulk surviving my attack is bad.
