Make sure you have Half-Life or CS retail installed. Then depending on how you launch your game, make sure its pointing at your H-L or C-S folder. But first make sure you have the H-L wad in you H-L folder.

Heres a possible fix. DO NOT EVER use the natural-selection Icon to play, go in from TFC or regular half-life, but dont activate it. never do that, ive had that problem. For some reason the Icon is stupid. Anyways, heres what I do. I open TFC, apply the filters as I see fit, but make sure the cheat thing filter is off, since NS dosent do VAC yet. Enjoy. can you play other mods/whatnot?
halflife.wad sohuld be in:
C:\Games\SIERRA\Half-Life\valve

if it aint, reinstall <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo-->
