You appear to have missed Famly Guy.

I'm sure that was a mistake. We wouldn't want any 'unfortuante incidents' regarding people who don't purchase it, thereby increasing its chances at getting back on the air.

Its only 30 bucks! Over 10 hours of FG goodness!

Chobits is cool, don't be hatin. Sumomo ahoy!

Read or Die isn't out yet, next month. Already preordered it as I usually do, in actuallity I preorder a few months ahead so I know that the releases I want WILL be in when I go to the store.

And I already have RahXephon Vol.1 /w Box. The shirt is pretty cheap though.....

Also handing in a resume to Electronics Boutique tomorrow. Hopefully a job offer will arise as I get along well with a few of the staff members (5 minute talks about anime while I hold up the line)

Anime series. Honestly, as good as the Kenshin series may be, it just pales too much compared to the first OVAs. Had he died that night in the snowy forest, it'd become an instant classic.

RAWR! Time for Inf to clarify the Kenshin timeline! Promises to be spoiler free!

The anime versions runs thusly (In order they were produced)
Rurouni Kenshin TV series - 95 episodes
    Rurouni Kenshin Movie
Rurouni Kenshin OVA - 4 episodes
Rurouni Kenshin 2nd OVA (Seishouhen) - 2 episodes

The 1st OVA was produced AFTER the TV series
All of these (save for the movie) is based off the original Rurouni Kenshin manga (comic) which was published in 28 Volumes.
At the time the Kenshin manga was still being published the TV series was produced, by the end of the Shishio Arc the TV series had caught up to the manga (Volume 17) and all episodes from 64 onwards are totally original works and have no relevance to the original manga timeline.

The movie was produced after episode 64 (If my memory serves me correctly) and also is an original story.

Now here's where it gets complicated, so I will use my patented method of a list to get the information out clearly and simply (So I don't ramble like I'm doing now...):

Volumes 18 - 28 contain the Enishi Story Arc.

The 1st OVA was PART of the Enishi Arc as Kenshin was recalling his time in Kyoto.

The 2nd OVA was is more or less a condension of the Enishi Arc. Yet it removes about 20 fights....

The 'ending' of the 2nd OVA is completely different from the ending of the original manga.

As it stands I personally hold the Kenshin manga as my 4th Favourite of all time (Following Gunnm: Last Order, Battle Angel Alita and Akira) and I feel that the 2nd OVA is a mockery of the masterpiece that is Enishi Arc. The 2nd OVA also alters the timeline with it's 'ending' and as a purist I feel that it should never have happened.

I can only pray the Enishi Arc gets the justice it deserves..... Hell took over a decade for the Saint Seiya - Hades Arc to be produced....

    Why don't I like Chobits?

Because it is a pervert's anime...

Hmm, It's hardly that perverted is it. I mean, i didn't see a single tentacle in it all. It is definately aimed at boys (Shouju? or something), which means it's bound to include some mild references to sex and so on, but when you look at it, the entire story's based around love.

    Is love perverted?

I found myself blubbering like a 13 year old japanese schoolgirl getting shagged by a demon's tentacle wang at the ending. And even on the second and third times watching it, i was still sad. This was the first anime to really move me. And it will always remain close to my heart

EDIT: Also, a word of advice, if you're going to preach to people that perverted things are wrong and so on, i suggest removing your Clockwork Orange avatar / sig. A film with so much violence and scenes of r.ape is probably not the kind of thing you want to be associated with when adopting such an attitude.

EDIT 2: Gahhh, stupid swear filter.

    Entire DBZ storyline:

OMGz0RZ HES TRYING TO BLOW UPz0RZ TEH PLANET / UNIVERSE!

ARGH CANT BEAT HIM TOO STRONG!

MUST AWAKEN SUPER DUPER HYPER ULTRA GIGA MEGA SAIYAN POWERZ0rZ

    YAY WE WIN WHOSE NEXT!

Repeat that for however the crap many episodes there are. DBZ is stupid, mmkay people? Maybe the animation is decent, but the story blows, and quite frankly, just like most games, I can't play for eye candy alone, and I can't watch for eye candy alone.

Dragonball Z is nearly a decade and a half old.

    Yes, that's right.

    It was made in 1989.

Might I add that the original DBZ is NOTHING like the American version, with swearing, blood, innuendo, blood, better dialogue, blood, nudity and you know. Blood.

The animation is 'subpar' because unlike a normal length 26 episode series, Dragonball Z ran for 291 eps. You gotta strrrrrrrrrrrreeeeeeeettttttcccccchhhhhh the budget for the animation.

It's the same thing that happened with Robotech. They took Macross, Southern Cross and Mospeada into an editing room BUTCHERED them beyond repair and released it as Robotech. Don't get me wrong I grew up on Robotech and love it to death, but now that I'm a little older and have seen the original series the way they were INTENDED to be shown I can safely say Robotech is a mockery of the way the series were meant to be watched.

    ^_^

Don't pass judgement until you've seen the ORIGINAL version ^_^
