I can't vote, I click the radio button and then "vote" but it tells me Page Cannot Be Displayed (much like the search function). aargh.

I think flayra should make it a server option, so some servers can keep it old NS style, and others can keep it classic style. maybe add a ns_playstyle 1 or 2 command or something.

Although this would seem a good idea at first, you have to remember the entire game has to be rebalanced based on this decision. So you'd need two entirely different rulesets to compensate for whichever option was chosen.
