You were probably still typing when I posted my last post. To sum it up, basically, I equate post count to experience in game. Experience in game generally means more knowledge. More knowledge equates to better factual formed opinion on the game and equates to more accurate statements. This is why I normally believe a "vet" over a "newb". I also stated this is not always the case in the last post, as some newbies contained a wealth of information, but this is quite simply not the case, not on these boards at least. The last couple newbie posts I've read usually had one liners of ideas that were repeated nearly a thousand times before, or opinion that is based on their first game, or trying to hang their dirty laundry here. Granted, not all "vet" posts are full of info goodness either but most have either proved that they CAN or that they CANNOT, in which case you know whether to take them at their word or not as opposed to not knowing at all.

No imagination: glad to see I'm not the only one that's actually read Marx before I spout off about Communism.

Anyhoo if post count = knowledge how do you explain the neverending story thread? gg I win.

2233 posts of spam doesn't mean you know a dahm thing.

edit: to clarify to those who don't know (or care) a Communist state can only be achieved when its leader isn't a clearly defined figure head but an equal with the rest of the citizens, basically someone will lead a country during times of revolution and remodeling which is known Socialist era which would eventually bridge to a Communist state. All historical examples of "communist" states have been lead by dictators and regimes. Totalitarian doesn't equate Communism.

If you mean veteran forummember and newcomer, wouldn't you ask for proof in any case? If you mean veteran as in pt-veteran, you probably believe him because he has acces to information that normal member don't have.

<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin-->If God himself fell down from the sky and told me something I wouldn't believe, I'd still ask him to provide me with arguments to prove it. This despite that God probably has a higher post count than me and his account is older than mine.
Let me remind you that knowledge and intelligence is not the same thing. I actually did an experiment on this once. I used my moderator account on a message board and made a few statements. People generally agreed with me. A few weeks later, I made the same statements (slightly modified of course) with a "new member" account. No one agreed. What does that tell you?<!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

This is what I'm chasing here.

<!--QuoteBegin--></span><table border='0' align='center' width='95%' cellpadding='3' cellspacing='1'><tr><td><b>QUOTE</b> </td></tr><tr><td id='QUOTE'><!--QuoteEBegin--> Sure, you'll get a lot of crap, but at some point you might find a diamond which will make it all worth it. <!--QuoteEnd--></td></tr></table><span class='postcolor'><!--QuoteEEnd-->

This is why it's difficult to chance it now and it's likely that it won't happen unless it gets full support from the mod/admin team, because most of average members don't like changes.

Yes Marxism is a type of philosophical state, all though most people hear Marxist and correct you by saying you meant Communist right?

Anyway there's a lot there to read, some of it is directly related to what he was going through at that time to and is deeply rooted in the class struggle. But if you take a look at his beliefs about what a person should be and the psychological impacts of existing in groups, ie families, cities, states, countries, you can see why it's hard for a lot of people to accept them.

    P.S. /end of thread hi-jack

ok, Dr. D, I appologize for taking you the wrong way:P I just know people who believe in stuff like that and it honestly sacrews me <!--emo&:p--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/tounge.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='tounge.gif'><!--endemo-->( not not forget the fact that I couldn't here the sarchasm in your keys)

    now, for a few points:

Alot of the people who are against post/join date think we use these things are our ONLY judge, ie Don't judge a book by its cover. Few of us actualy use them as our ONLY things. I only look at post/join date when I am doubting something (to give me a decent idea of familiarity with the subject etc). Also, if some ones first (or relativly first) post is something silly it gives me a good idea of how serious this person is (it meens that they didn't learn the fine art of lurking, something I pride my self on doing).
I don't think ALL newbs are stupid (as a note I was ussing the sig of informed newb for some time b/c of that) <a href='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/index.php?act=ST&f=1&t=5260&hl=' target='_blank'>my first post</a> (yah, I had some bugs but I got Thansal1 then switched over)
so yes, I know not all nubcaeks are stupid (pronounced stuh-pid), it just gives a nice quick way of evaluating some one.

Oh, and as for first impressions, yes I know, and I tend to be good and give people second chances, but again it is a nice quick way of helping to judge some one. After all we have very little to go on in the net, we can't look some one in the eye, we can't watch their habbits, we can't tell inflection (thus my mistake on dr. d's post) etc etc etc. So the more info you have on some one the better I think.

The same can also go with sig and avatars often, if some one has a bloody stupid sig, you can often guess what they are like.

Oh well, basicaly I have a poor view on the human race, but I am willing to give them all a chance (untill they **** me off a few times)

I'd like different Color Schemes, and a Polling System. That's all.

Ditto. I love this forum type. I get annoyed when I have to post on another forum which isn't as good.

Leave the forums the way they are. What do you think I am posting here for to get a higher post count <!--emo&:)--><img src='http://www.unknownworlds.com/forums/html/emoticons/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif'><!--endemo--> And my sig adds my gorgyness to the posts i make
